Operation Sellout

I love this...

The Hurricanes cracked the Top 25 on Monday for the first time since Jan. 11, 2010, and their nationally-televised showdown against top-ranked Duke on Wednesday at the BankUnited Center is creating such a buzz that students are expected to camp out on “Larranaga Lawn” adjacent to the arena in order to secure the 1,300 designated student tickets.

Yup, it is good to be relevant again. As far as fans, it is what it is. Small alumni base that is spoiled by the riches of the football program. People located next to a premier nightlife city have the attention span of a 1 year old. You have to keep them interested and winning, *****, or free liquor are really the only things that can do that.

Really glad to see the students getting so involved and trying to start new traditions. If we win, you can bet that "Larranaga Lawn" will start to be a happening spot for the near future.

There is hope for these kids.

104 tickets left.

Coach L's take on his " lawn"

As for how he feels about the grass alongside the arena being dubbed “Larranaga Lawn,” the coach smiled and said: “I’m just happy our students know we have a game on Wednesday and they plan on attending.”

And I love the BUC. It's not fancy, not too many frills (although the new HD video board helps), but it holds noise very well when it's full, and there isn't a bad seat in the house.
