Now I know in the past we tried to discuss the ACC schedule for 2014 (see link at bottom). But what are your thoughts about our OOC schedule...Really what are your thoughts about Cincinnati and Nebraska (let's forget about FAMU and Arkansas State).


9/20 at Nebraska [9-4 (5-3)]

Remember Ameer Abdullah, big time RB

10/11 Cincinnati [9-4 (6-2)]

Lost to USF, UL, Illinois and UNC

9/20 at Nebraska [9-4 (5-3)]

Ameer Abdullah (RB) decided to stay for his senior season after rushing for 1600 Yards and 9 TDs.

Taylor Martinez (QB) is finally gone and on offense they also lost Quincy Enunwa (WR) who was their leading WR (51 for 753 and 12 TD), along with some O-lineman (Spencer Long, Andy Rodriguez, Brent Qvale and Jeremiah Sirles, they had 113 starts between them).

As for their defense, they lost some quality players Jason Ankrah (DE), Thad Randle (DT), Ciante Evans (CB, First-Team All-Big Ten), Drew Green (CB/S) and Stan Jean-Baptiste (CB, 2nd-Team All-Big Ten).

10/11 Cincinnati [9-4 (6-2)]

Starting QB: Brendon Kay 262 for 395 3302 Yards (66.3%) and 22 TDs 12 INTs is gone.

The other big loss is Anthony McClung who is their best WR. He had 72 Receptions, 939 Yards and 5 TDs in the 2013.

Austen Bujnoch (OL), Blake Annen (TE), Greg Blair (ILB), Arryn Chenault (S), Deven Drane (CB), Sam Longo (OL), Dan Sprague (OL) and Jordan Stepp (DT) are all gone.

Lets not forget about arky state...

Ark State is pretty good. Let's not start sleeping on teams until we see our defense this year. Because if its the same old same old, Ark State is gonna light up that score board like a Christmas tree.

Nebraska is my only concern. we usually struggle against bigger opponents. were a finesse team and sometimes that power is over baring. we should play good against them. almost every team we play has a new starting QB. Cincy has lost too much to compete with us IMO.

They have a first time HC and they win their non-BCS games. When was the last time they beat a BCS team?

In terms of relevance:

UL: Bridgewater
UNC: Renner (Williams had some snaps)
VT: Thomas (even though he sucks)
Nebraska: T. Martinez
Cinn: Kay

huh, it is Arkansas State. Okay, how about some thoughts on the other teams of relevance?

fine well keep it on your selective viewing of the OOC schedule...

neb looks like a perennial middle of the road big 10 school.... watching limited games of them last year their QB play was atrocious as they went through seemingly everyone on their depth chart.... for as touted as bo is as the D cord from LSU his D in neb has not been great(still looks better than our dumpster fire)

cincy looks like a team that just plugs and plays for a solid 8-5 season yearly... but a team like this worries me with the defense we have and not knowing if were gonna have an offense that will simply be able to out shoot the oppenent
 
I don' like any of them but Nebraska. One thing I don't like about the Golden era is losing the "we play anyone, anytime, any place"mantra we had during the day. Maybe we need a balance but we have all the patsies we need in the ACC.

Selective, we play 4 OOC teams. 2 of them I brought up, 1 of them no one will talk about (FAMU) and the other is Ark State who last beat a BCS team in 2008 (4-8 TAMpon). Arkansas State has another new coach, who is a first time HC. If you want to talk about them, please continue. Selective, they're no real threat to anyone except teams in the Sun Belt.

Just really wanted to hear thoughts on Nebraska and Cincinnati.

As for Nebraska, they look to be a one trick pony with the RB.

As for Cinn, losing to USF and Illinois last year was pretty bad.

Didn't Cincy take it to UNC in the bowl game before ultimately losing?
 
Cincinnati has Gunner Kielh at qb.
He tore it up in the spring game. If he is legit then Cincy becomes a pretty tough game.

Probably lose to pelini, toss up with cincy. Pretty sure this will be Eddie Gran second season as an OC(2nd season ever) at cincy. No reason to talk about ark st.(lose to them and probably need to be fired on spot....).
