One Week and No Transfer Portal Commitments?

Tonight marks 1 week and Mario still has nobody committed from the transfer portal? I get there's still time, but not a single commit after a bad finish to HS recruiting doesn't bode well for us when momentum is huge when it comes to recruiting. If he can't recruit at an elite level, which he hasn't this year, what value does he provide as UM HC?

Oregon is the #1 team in America by a wide margin and has way more $ to shell out than us. If you are comparing us to them then you will never be satisfied. They are on a different level than the University of Miami currently and probably for the foreseeable.

IMO, “Big boy football” doesn’t exist in the ACC anymore. That doesn’t happen unless you’re in one of the “big 2”. We are viewed as peasants. So, no. Not anytime soon at least. Again, JMO.

Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t expect to win this bull**** *** conference every year though since we are consistently the most talented team in it but that’s a story for another day and a different topic.

Settle down. NILs are not used here. Enrollment is the only solid and binding agreement.

And fwiw, I think this is the best portal start we’ve had under Mario. We will see if they can close on some of these guys in the coming days. My only complaint thus far is I wish the net was cast a little more wide with DBs but there are probably some in the works that we don’t know about.

“Commitments” are blah nowadays for these portal guys. He’s gotten some heavy hitters on campus and appears as if more are lined up to come over the next week and that’s just the one’s we know about. I know we gotta close, but I’ll sit back for now. Let these kids visit and up their bag and we will revisit in a couple weeks but this is EASILY the hottest we’ve been in terms kids visiting to start the winter window since he has been here. It’s not even close.
