It is pretty clear in his highlights...and they are just highlights...…is that he has a very high IQ. Internally, this was a separator between him and Howard. Not that Howard is bad in this area, but Ward is considered exceptional.
He was a top point guard and student in high school, and the decision-making is there on the college film. Quote from someone at Miami: “What separates Ward from others is that he doesn’t make the same mistake twice.”
but he seems to have an innate ability to go through his reads, and if not there...he goes....he commits. So big this day and age.
Milroe for Alabama took most of the year to figure that out, and still struggled occasionally with just dancing too long.
