i know there is an obsession with coach d on this board. however, morris is just as much to blame because he handicapped our team. According to ncaa, we are 119 or 120 teams in time of possession. Considering our defense doenst have the depth we need (i am not sure fsu could handle this) you wonder why they are exhausted and have horrible body language. Let the negging posts begin.

That's on Coley and Golden as well. Inexplicably, we slow the game down when we should have chewed the clock and use our gigantic OL and power run game to our advantage. How many no huddle/3 incomplete pass/3 and outs were there? I am going to guess quite a few. We mix our OL constantly, never giving them a chance to settle in and play. Once Duke was gone, it was over as he was a great mistake erasure and talent equalizer. Without Duke we were worse than pedestrian and teams could really zero in on our lack of playmaking ability from the RB position. Morris ignored his secondary targets so the RB coming out of the backfield or an obvious hot read could be totally ignored.

Just my dos pesos.

my problem is they were too loyal to morris. he is 3 and outs or turnovers. only time he scores its a quick score. he has no feel for game, has no awareness, misses his safety valves, has no touch on his passes, locks onto receivers, cannot think on the fly. he is really just horrible. its not the injury because he sucked agasint fau and uf.
 
As bad as Morris played this year you can't just blame him. I saw a clear digression from his junior season to his senior season and honestly I believe that it was partially the play calling and situations that he was forced in. Remember Steven Morris came in as the 5TH QB on the depth chart as a freshman. He completely surpassed his exceptions coming in as a freshman. Before the start of the season many people were saying that he was a for sure first rounder and a Heisman candidate(Obviously he didn't live up to those exceptions). But he has come a long way from being the 5th string QB and we wouldn't have won some of those games in the beginning of the year without him. Yesterday was not his fault, he did all he could with the time and plays he was given.

(Yes he deserves some blame just not as much as you are giving him)

but come on, we do have some weapons and we were 119 out of 120 in time of possession. that is horrible.

A few other stats:

Total Defense - 90th out of 123 - 426.4 yards a game - 5.75 yards per play

Scoring Defense - 66th out of 123 - 26.8 points a game

Rushing Defense - 77th out of 123 - 176.5 yards per game - 4.4 yards per rush

Passing Yards Allowed - 92nd out of 123 - 249.8 yards a game - 12.21 yards a comp

It's safe to say that we suck *** on offense and defense. That falls 100% on Golden and nobody else.

There was actually some **** on here making the excuse that Alpo should be cut slack because he was "forced" to play Highsmith and Rodgers even though he's had 3 years to find better options.
 
I brought up OP's point before.
0-11 on 3rd down conversion is the biggest reason for the disastrous outcome yesterday.
Our defense had some key stops and kept the team in the game for the most part.
They even gave us 2 points.

anyhow, obviously this was a flawed team that was exposed when Duke Johnson went down.
When you have a weak defense like we had, your talented offense should be the one to carry the team.
They didn't. No depth at RB to replace Duke and a QB that sucks at extending plays and converting 3rd downs sealed our fate.
