One piece of construtive criticism

TB is returning kicks in the NFL right now. No moves, though.

I saw his return. He just ran basically. He wasn't juking a bunch of guys or doing any heavy cutting while running full speed. I mean sharp cuts like Parrish and others already mentioned. Doesn't mean he can't be effective e in the return game obviously.

Kid needs to stop running track in the offseason and just keep putting in work on the football field

No he doesn't . In fact more players need to run track. Andre Johnson, Parrish, Copeland, reed, McGee, Portis, etc all ran track.

Dorset played like freshman last night. Morris can't trust him on his pass routes. At this point, Waters is the go to receiver.

I personally like a little bigger returner for kick returns. A little size good speed. Wouldn't mind seeing Tucker back there( has he ever done it in hs before). Punt returner I like smaller sure handed shifty guy. Break 1 tackle make 1 guy miss n u usually have a great returner. In all fairness there wasn't a lot of room to run out there on punt returns. I didn't mind Dorsett getting a couple yards and getting out of bounds avoiding a hit. Even though he didn't play well last nite we can't afford to lose him right now. His kick return was pitiful.

Dorsett needs to stop fielding punts, put Artie, Coley, or Dallas.

For the love of god take him off!

Was yelling this as well, I feel like they'll keep him back there against Florida and then hopefully one of the youngsters takes over.

I thought Crawford looked decent in the one return that he made last night. He was at least aggressive. I'd consider putting him back there. If nothing else we can't afford to lose another WR to injury.

Hey Corch!! How are Arky Lb looking this season?

If Duke isn't our primary kick returner then we are wasting something special.
People worry about him getting hurt, and rightfully so, but as Golden said, if he's not returning kicks then he's not Duke Johnson.

Duke puts the fear of God into the opposing team.

I believe Duke gives us something special on kick returns. I would leave him in there too.

I can't argue with that I would just pick and choose when to use him. He is special back there.

Dorsett is the runner type almost like Travis Benjamin, not real, shifty like Parrish or Hester and his feet aren't good enough to cut while running full speed.

WTF? Dorsett is nothing like TB3 other than they are both short and fast. TB3 had moves and was a good returner. Dorsett is a WR I like a lot, but he is not a good punt returner. He is only there because he is safe just like CaneAlmighty said. For kick returns I don't mind Dorsett as much.

Tb had no moves and had to gather his feet to make a sharp cut just like Dorsett. Both players are long strider types not your choppy feet type like Parrish, Hester or even a guy like antrel rolle.

Yet TB is emerging as one of the best return guys in the NFL.

But I agree, no more Dorsett on returns. I have never liked him back there.

just one note they really didnt set up the returns to well as far as blocking goes. dorsett is meh

Yea....u can still be effective in the return game with his skills. Just like Dorsett cam. U guys act like Dorsett has to break one every time.

Has the measurables you can point at. Great attitude/personality. Seems like a hard worker. From STA. Supposedly great family. Aside from the drops he probably doesn't have any mentals. Coaches tend to fall in love with kids who have all of those traits. We have to have someone better at return game, though, and change needs to happen there.

Swag (et al),
I see this as one of my bigger concerns with coach Golden. He's really big on the measurables/camp mindset. If you look at most of his "reach/project" recruits, they tend to be very tall. Dude loves height. In this application he seems to be more focused on 40 time than actual on-field performance.

Coach Golden seems like a thinker, which I like. That said, he core belief structure seems a bit rigid.

I'd like to see Carter or Waters back there. In fact, if not Carter or Waters, I rather see RLIII back there. It's not always straight line speed, but shifty waterbugs that really shake up opposing kickoff teams.

Duke Johnson is our best player, period.

That said, it's just not worth the risk putting him back there for kick and punt returns. Put Coley/Burns/Crawford etc back there. We literally can't afford to lose Duke and still have a good season.

It was shockingly bad. That's what I entered this thread to post. I'm glad someone else provided a foundation.

Dorsett lacks awareness. He's always a candidate to disappoint in that regard. Wanderer. But last night we couldn't block the flyers and the punt returns were doomed from the outset. I'm not sure it showed up on TV but it was glaring from the stands. I told other members of my party that Hester in his prime would have been hard pressed to do anything, given the mess in front every time the ball arrived.

I actually didn't mind the split formation with Crawford on the opposite side, simply because it mixed things up and gave FAU opportunity to make a mistake. They were locked in to defending our standard punt return schemes.

FAU had athletes in the secondary. That type of strength translates to special teams coverage.

He's not really going to create anything. You have to adjust your return game according. Right now he's prolly the best option and he'll be fine. It was only the first game with some new blood blocking for him. Lewis looks like he may be the shifty type, not sure who else fits the mold. Need to see more of the players.

Until then I'll settle with Dorsett.

Maaaaan...u never lied....He is a better receiver than Benjamin but as far as kick returning.....if he has to shake anyone he will do nothing.....i see him returning a pun t like Benjamin did vs osu....big *** open hole with just straight line speed
