On Paper... not a bad class

But I want to see two things

1. DMONEY evaluation of the class including how well we addressed needs. His view of the potential...
2. Boards view of IF this staff can take the talent and produce something better than 6-6
DMONEY is a good hype man but I would take his evals with a grain of salt....

You just signed bar none the best RB class in the entire country.

Hire an offensive coordinator and his OL coach who can maximize those abilities, and cook.

If Manny moves on from Enos I'll have some hope but hopefully "changes" aren't getting rid of Barry because that's not going to do a **** thing with the offense Enos is running.

It's a good class so far. Today it is light 7-9 players (25-27 spots as per Manny weeks ago). It's especially light at corner, linebacker, and offensive line. The team is stacking chips on the defensive line and running back, and tight end. Even the wide receiver group has plenty of talent.

The staff left spots open late for the following though and shouldn't have:

Washington
Flowe
Francois
Greene
Height

I'd like to say they left 2-4 spots open at OL and CB but those were just straight up brutal misses after brutal misses as far as I can tell.

The first thing post bowl game should be address the coaching staff. These kids will never be able to maximize their talent with the staff in its current form. Coaches that know how to adapt to the talent they have instead of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and forcing things that are just not there. Second go spread offense, I admit I liked the pro style aspect from a traditional standpoint but it’s just not working here anymore. Teams having success are in spread concepts. If we can’t address that our blue chip ratio is useless because the coaches can’t use them properly.

Does it really matter what the board thinks? (No offense board) but the develop of these players in the next 2-3 years will tell us if these players pan out or not.

There are some kids with Miami interest still available.

Neal
Williams
Stewart
Branch (looks like he hasn't signed yet)

True, but who is doing the development? The same coaches that just went 6-6?

Does it matter on the field... NO. It is a forum and conversation... don't like it, don't read it.

General thought. Stayed strong at positions where we are strong(running back, defensive line) and stayed weak at positions we are weak(offensive line and corner). Sure there is talent in this class but what makes a class good is how you fill your positions of need.

"But we're currently ranked #15 after a 6-6 season BRO. Never mind the actual roster depth. RECRUITING RANKINGS BRO!"

We are going to finish in the 20s and not sign anyone worth a **** at our positions of need. How is this a good class?

Stop looking at the rankings of this class. Yes, we grabbed an elite QB, RB class, a solid DL (losing Height stung), solid safety class and added some solid WRs. We only brought in 1 decent OT in Rivers. We added 2 LBs, one of which a lot of people are skeptical on and have no game changer at CB which is a position of need. We're recruiting like FSU has the last couple of cycles (sans the QB portion). We're hitting on areas where the team was already strong, but in terms of CB, LB and OL, we struck out miserably.

1: I like the class. In a vacuum this is a super talented bunch of kids. And I’m deeply sadden that their moment in the sun and decision to play for the U is mired by a Corch.

1a: ultimately this class is flawed based on the team needs and overall failures of the staff to finish strong.

2: The team manny had this year was loaded with playmakers and SRs on defense and he went 6-6 do i believe that he can get these guys to be better than 6-6 no (unless he changes everything he thinks he discovered about football) He was terrible with personnel decisions, terrible with managing the players attitudes (see Hightower, Lingard, Martell), gameday was ok, game planning was terrible, adjustments were ok, motivation and execution were terrible. And worst yet, he sat by and watched the all data pile up and never stepped in to make a change.
