Saying "as a black man I loved randy" is the very definition of racist. Why do we still form opinions negative or positive based on skin color?

Omar, Luke, Nights (NewKirk and like TP801 and who know how many other names), all need to enter the 21st century.

Omar Kelly wrote a very inappropriate column in the past playing the racial victim. He has a real chip on his shoulder

Theres a small group under the spell "ESPNs 30 for 30 The U" like Omar who believe a black coach is the best fit for the U. Omar was excited about Shannons attempt to make Miami a SWAC like Div 1 school. He believed Shannon deserved one more year in spite of all the evidence that Shannon was over his head. Anyone other than Sumlin or another African American HC would have been a disappointment to Omar...and so we have his attitude with Golden.

Lucky for everyone they haven't invented smell-a-vision for the internets yet. Omar would have the stankiest tweets in twitterland.

LOL. So let me get this straight..as a black man I cant be proud of another black man for doing something NO OTHER BLACK MAN had done at the time? (Which is coach the University of Miami) AND if I am, I am racist? LMAO. Some of you use the word "racist" as nonchalant as some people use the word "***".

Frankly, I dont care how you think of me. You think im racist? Fine. Like I said, Randy is gone. I am happy he is gone. But I am also happy that he landed on his feet. And not because he is black but because heis more of a Cane then ANY of us who post on here.

And to the guy who referenced Hitler..LOL. You just making yourself look stupid. And if you like Hitler, I wouldnt move to South Florida if I were you.

You can be happy for whoever you want to be happy for. But I think it's antiquated and silly to care at all what race or ethnicity a guy is. I don't even know what nationality Golden is, and I don't give a **** either.

And I am officially fading to black on this subject because I dont like Randy Shannon or Omar Kelly that much to be on here defending them....Holla at yall in another thread..

Randy Shannon is no longer the head coach of this program so talking about him 3 years after he was fired is pointless. If you don't like Golden then state your reason but attacking a coach after a big win just shows you want the program to fail. I was happy when we hired Randy but not because he was black but because he was a cane and did a great job on defense. I was wrong as he turned out to not be a very good head coach. I wish him luck in the future and hopes he improves and wins a lot of games.

Judge a coach by his success on the field. Nothing else matters but this in football.

Go Canes!

University of Miami football has been the one thing to bring black, white, hispanic, together in South Florida.

Take a step back and think about how different this city is from 30 years ago. Back then you had racial riots. ANybody remember this story?

Miami football was the one thing that got everyone on the same side, cheering for the same underdog of a team.

These sports writers make me lol. When Randy Shannon was coach, his white players didn't care about his skin color and they would have gone to war with him. Now that Golden is coach, his black players respect him and would run through a wall for him.

You think Malcom Lewis' mom cares what skin color Al Golden has? GTFOH with that. He cares about his team and his players like we all do.

Miami Hurricanes have THE MOST diverse fanbase in America, no comparison. If Omar Kelly or anyone else doesn't appreciate or like that, I've got nothing for him.
