OLine recruiting

We can make tons of room for OL this year. And yes, we NEED every OL we can get, even the projects.

Jahair Jones
Hayden Mahoney
Hunter Knighton
Brendon Loftus

All are attritable.

so glad Kehoe is gone. Everyone and their grandma could see that Loftus was a bad player....but the arrogant Kehoe just couldn't help himself. The idiot was really full of himself and thought he could turn water into wine.

Leatherwood - no shot. I think the last 2 realistic targets are slaton and Telfort. That's a solid 4 OL haul

What makes you say that? Is he not coming down for FSU?

Big deal. Lots of kids always visit during big national games

I subscribe to the belief that if they come for a visit (which I heard was an Unofficial Visit) then there's a solid chance. Nobody thought Seantrel Henderson was coming when he visited either. Especially if FSU is Unofficial and he comes back for an OV.

Think we need at least one more, maybe two, interior guys and another tackle.

Telfort seems most likely. Leatherwood would be ideal, obviously, but he's the longest of long shots.

I think our staff sees Dykstra as an interior guy. Adding Slaton or Chandler, or both, to him would make this OL class great.

OT: Donaldson, Telfort, Hillery
OG: Dykstra, Slaton, Chandler

I saw on twitter Slaton being pretty set on being OT. Someone had put him as a OG on a picture and he wasn't too pleased. Who knows. I think he's good enough to be flexible with the position. However you're right we need more interior guys also. Is Telford a definite OT?

First, I really enjoyed a lot of these post; all very sensible arguments. I'll just say this; I saw some say Leatherwood is a long shot...with the way Miami's season has been shaping up, in the words of KG "anything's possible." I no longer see any recruit as a long shot if we can get them on campus. If we beat FSU during this high profiled unofficial/official visit, then honestly, anything is possible and Richt knows that.

This would be ideal and the better % to happen.

Who did he sign with again?

Agree and people bring up Seantrel but he came here after the fiasco at USC. Wasnt like we were his first choice. But Im not complaining either.

Anyway, lets remember that Leatherwood isnt some uncommitted recruit either. And he hasnt officially decommited from ALA even though he is taking his visits. Not like he is scared Saban would pull his scholie. When he decommits then I will turn my "longshot" into a "legit possibility".

Amen! it doesn't look like we are playing checkers while everyone else plays chess. We are playing real ball again for the first time in ages and right now I may be getting ****y but I do believe we could compete for anyone in the nation for recruiting this year. We keep working on ourselves and focus on fundamentals and I think our time will come. Anything is possible.

Worth noting that if you asked most UGA fans what Richt's weakest position group to recruit was, I think they'd all say OL.

It will be easy to recruit RBs, WRs, DBs while here, but Richt has got to dominate the trench recruiting nationally.

Richt recruited 1 5-star, 7 4-star & 11 3-star OL in his last 4 classes (if you include 2016)...
He's currently got 5 OL's in the NFL right now.

Maybe not great, but certainly not bad...

Considering our schedule isn't insanely difficult the rest of the season, I think we can make due. I also think another season to unlearn some of the stuff kehoe had been teaching them (just going off how they've looked in past years) and learning from the new staff will help, we don't lose much, and like some folks said already. We could definitely drop Loftus and Gauthier. I also believe Slaton and Donaldson will absolutely compete next year combined with only losing isadora.... but I'm selfish and I want to add far more depth than we already have. Going forward from there we will be able to tell how rights OL recruiting is, but if we do as well the rest of this year I think we can, and next year. I think it could be even better than it was at Georgia!

Well, based on those stats, I'd say thats very average.
But I was Just saying, that's how just about every UGA fan feels. They think he was basically a beast a recruiting QBs and RBs but consistently underrecruited OL, and they'd probably say other than AJ, didn't do as well at WR.

his wrs routinely sucked at uga which was strange. shouldnt have that problem in the state of fla though

Anyone know which recruits are coming for FSU? I've only been finding half of what I had been hearing for a couple weeks.

More specifically OL recruits? Thanks!
