Even though the numbers LOOK ok on the OL this season so far, I've had a hard time trusting them. I'm especially nervous for when we actually play some legit opponents.

That said looking at the OL recruiting I think we need to hit home runs across the board.
Donaldson is a stud lock.
Dykstra looks like he is starting to get somewhere.

What do you guys think our chances are now with these 4 guys and others you may add...
Leatherwood- we had some good momentum with him early, heard he may visit for FSU? Can anyone confirm?
TJ Slaton- Pete just mentioned we were trending up though it's been quiet and I know we've had trouble with Heritage lately.
Leon-Herbert- another Heritage guy. How is his commitment to Michigan? He and Slaton a package?
Ealy- heard some good stuff with him but he's in LSU territory? How will Les leaving effect him?

Leatherwood - no shot. I think the last 2 realistic targets are slaton and Telfort. That's a solid 4 OL haul

We stand a chance of missing on elite Olinemen, exception Donaldson of course. To maintain the level of talent we need, it's imperative we get the best SoFl OL in Slaton and Telfort! Understand the OOS best option is Sheriffs former teammate from GA (name?). The LSU transfer will lessen the sting if we don't get Slaton or flip Telfort, but OL is code red for signing top level talent.

OG Caleb Chandler fro Georgia

I would put a lot of work in to try and flip Calvin Ashley from Auburn if their season goes bad - coach could be fired

My optimal line would be to land

Ashley
Telfort
Donaldson
Chandler
Hillery or Dykstra

And lose a couple of players like Jones and Loftus that haven't progressed

I would keep Hillery and Dykstra, also Ashley is a done deal to Auburn regardless of coach, cough cough $EC bag man has seen to that. I would add Knighton to the encourage to move on or take a medical scholarship list.

Go Canes

I forgot about Chandler! Heard he is a road grater at OG. I haven't heard anything about Ashley though. Forgot about Hillery too.

Flipping Telfort is the #1 priority, alongside keeping Donaldson...

Ealy is a heavy lean to Oklahoma, Slaton is a possibility but most likely not coming & Leatherwood is a super super super long-shot.

Think we need at least one more, maybe two, interior guys and another tackle.

Telfort seems most likely. Leatherwood would be ideal, obviously, but he's the longest of long shots.

I think our staff sees Dykstra as an interior guy. Adding Slaton or Chandler, or both, to him would make this OL class great.

OT: Donaldson, Telfort, Hillery
OG: Dykstra, Slaton, Chandler

We need at least one more kid who can be a heavy contributor my mid-season next year.

We also have OT George Brown that transferred from LSU.

I think we only have 1 graduating OL (Isidora) so we would have to have a lot of attrition to sign 6 + Brown (who will be eligible to play next year)

We have some attrition-eligible bodies on the OL.

We can make tons of room for OL this year. And yes, we NEED every OL we can get, even the projects.

Jahair Jones
Hayden Mahoney
Hunter Knighton
Brendon Loftus

All are attritable.

I totally forgot about George Brown. Talk about a potential program saving transfer. Because Loftus, Jones and Knighton look to be useless at this point. Whoever we bring in at OL this year will immediately either be starting or on our two deep if they are studs. (talking Donaldson and hopefully Telfort and/or Slaton)
