OLB Zach Cunningham

What specifically has Eddie Johnson done or not done?

kitually looks long like 6 and actually plays like him. Great read and react skills.

Couldn't help but think the same thing. Similar build and skills but Thomas does it against elite competition and still stands out. Not sure about this kid.

Agreed were still thin at line backer and Eddie Johnson will be out of UM by the end of the year probably anyway

"Miami assistant coach Michael Barrow, a longtime NFL vet who also starred for the Hurricanes, told Glover that Cunningham was the best linebacker recruit he'd seen on tape all season in his studies of the 2013 class. "

That's saying a lot as I'm pretty sure Barrow has seen mucho tape on 6, Grace, Foster, Jaylon Smith.
Everybody seems to think we need recruits to start or make a major impact next year.
I'm telling you, if we are relying on Freshmen to come in and start then we won't be competing for anything next year.
That's a simple fact.
Even the prep guys and JUCO guys are still coming from basically high school. Most JUCO ball is not the same speed as D-1.
I'm hoping the upgrade in level isn't a big deal to Sandland and Bond, but we have to be realistic with all new players and the reality is that most players who haven't played D-1 are absolutely shocked at how good everyone is.
There are always the Duke's and the Adrian Peterson's and the Clowney's but with that caliber we are talking once a decade type of players.

Get as many great athletes/good football players in as we can and turn those great athletes/good football players into great football players and then we will be in the National Championship hunt.

All starts with filling the stable with thoroughbreds.

If this guy really is 6'5", he could easily get up to 240 and not lose his speed. And with the instincts he shows on the tape...beast.

looks shorter than 6.5, but definitely aggressive which is something you cannot teach. He has a nasty streak sheds blocks do want. I mean can I be greedy and have them all. I think if we win this year and win big it's going to be ugly next cycle.

Sign this kid up! You can't teach 6'4" athletes with speed. I trust this coaching staff can develop this stud into a playmaker. Has all the tools you look for in an NFL LB. Add 30lbs to his frame and he will punish defenses.

just to update, Cunnigham has turned into a beast for Vanderbilt and is looking like he's going to be a top 3 LB in the 2017 Draft

Barrow could recruit. He wanted this kid and he's the one who had to somehow convince Golden that Perryman was a take... god what a joke of a staff.

But Cunningham wasn't a 5*!? That's impossible! Feel bad for Barrow, must have killed him to be part of that **** staff, especially working under a mook like Doh'Nofrio.

Go Canes!
