I've been screaming about this for months now. Our 2014 OL depth chart looks horrendous.

We have 8 bodies for 5 starting positions. That's pathetic. OL is a position where you dont want to throw true FR from the 2014 class into the mix. That means you need to find contributors NOW.

OL, S, and RB are the real positions of need for 2013. Everyone screams about DT and DE but those aren't critical needs this year - OL is. A smart man would trade Tim Williams, Sherit, Bain, and Bostwick for some elite OL talent.

i would take Gall, Kirkland, and maybe one more this year. next year take Darling, McDermott and 2 more.

I would not pass up on Tim Williams, Sherit, bain or Bostwick if they want to come here. Our DL needs all the help they can get.

You would pass up on elite DLine talent for what elite OL? Not sure the top elite OLine even have us in their top 10. i would get Kirkland and very happy.

I didn't read your depth chart the first time. If you think we only have 8 offensive linemen you're getting your panties in a wad over nothing. According to Hurricane Sports we have THIRTEEN:

I have noticed with your posts that you are fixated on the exact numbers on our roster rather than having any quality at the position. You're saying don't recruit an elite DL that we can realistically land because we have multiple JAG's already at the position and we should be taking an elite OL instead.

In a perfect world you would be correct, but it isn't working that way right now. You are going to be thin somewhere but god dammit I am ******* tired of us taking JAG's because we need roster spots filled.

We need OL in a bad way, I am not disagreeing with that though and 2014 looks like a year where we are going to hit a homerun, but we are in a tough spot at the moment no doubt.

You always need OL, especially because its such a difficult position to recruit, and Florida isn't exactly the best area to hope for OL year in and year out.

The answer, as always, lies somewhere in the middle.

The situation is NOT that desperate, but it also hinges on a few guys.

In 2014, the OLine will depend on Bunche, Feliciano, Flowers and likely Mcdermott. The beautiful thing is that, out of the experienced guys at that point, 3 of them can legitimately play OT. In this class, we absolutely need a guy like Kirkland because, like Feliciano, he's likely an inside/outside guy who should play Guard, but can play RT. Additionally, a guy like Gadbois will be able to chip in as well. Then you have guys like Isadora, Gall, and one other.

I think you take 2-3 this year, depending on the quality. I think you take 4-5 next year, depending on the quality. You end up approximately 15 OL, of which you depend on 4-5 top level guys, and 8 solid guys total whose presence in your lineup will keep the offense at its maximum.

So long as we get a 2-3 *good* ones this year, I'm not worried.

Read his post, he's already looking ahead to 2014 and that's the depth chart for that. I do disagree that having 8 Sr and Jr OL is thin though. We still only have 85 scholarships to give out 13-16 OL is where you should be at.

15-16 OL is where you want to be on your roster, and so because of that 3-4 in each of the next two classes is a necessity. Its a position where time for development is key, so need to give those kids a RS.

in the next 2 years we are losing 6 OL. Only 2 really play Linder and Henderson. here is what out OL might look like.
