Anyone else think some of our DL recruits end up making a switch down the road? Hard to make sense of AG's recruiting otherwise.

We got flowers and gadbois last class. Im sure he will bring in some this year. Not really worried about it yet

I think AG is comparing talent on the team to the talent being recruited. Some of the current players will switch positions or leave the team. We are going to see it with DL, DB, LB, QB and WR soon. Load up on numbers, Get them in, work them out, keep the best, washout the rest. The talent has to be better spaced to build the program up. We should have loaded up on QB talent years ago until we found game day talent.

Some will leave on there own. Would you stay if you were 5th on the QB depth chart with three other freshman ahead of you.

Taylor Gabois
Ereck Flowers
Danny Isadora
Anthony Gall
Plus 2 more in this class, and maybe this Jeremy Kerr fella.

That's potentially 7 OL in two classes.

Not a bad haul.

Have u ever wondered about Dyron Dye at OT? Long arms and good athlete... Tackle$ get paid in the NFL

I saw somewhere that Junior Alexis was moved to center as well. Anyone able to confirm that?

Gadbois
Flowers
Isidora
Gall
Kirkland
? Kerr?

Not a ton of bodies but nothing frightening either. On the plus side, the talent level there is tremendous. The 5 listed there are all easily 4* talents imo, which shows the eye for talent that the staff has (some prospects were under the radar when they were offered).

None two years ago. Three last year. Thats three in two years. Very light for OL.

This class is limited in numbers. We need four. Not clear we'll have four. Maybe they see Kerr as a future OT, but maybe Ivery is an OG?

Here's what we have now, not counting wells, who i dont think will ever play here:

SRs: Jones, lewis
JRs: henderson, linder, wheeler, johnson
SOs: bunch, feliciano, mcdermott
FR: flowers, gadbois, isidora

Not awful, but thin, and after next year we lose a lot and we dont want to be relying on first year players for a lot of snaps. The guys we take this year will need to contribute as RS frosh.

Agree, that 1st class really hurt because he just didn't have time.

Don't forget Darling and most say McDermott for 2014 plus I'm sure a few more.

We just need to close with 2 more in this class and I think we will be alright.

But we had none the class prior, and Kerr's a long way off from being an OT. And I don't see the OTs in this class yet. I like the guys we took last year, but we're light on OL numbers and need a couple more guys in this class. Just curious to see where they come from. Hopefully Kirkland is one.

Just don't want to see us get to 2014 and have light numbers, an injury or two and be relying on true frosh.

I've been screaming about this for months now. Our 2014 OL depth chart looks horrendous.

We have 8 bodies for 5 starting positions. That's pathetic. OL is a position where you dont want to throw true FR from the 2014 class into the mix. That means you need to find contributors NOW.

OL, S, and RB are the real positions of need for 2013. Everyone screams about DT and DE but those aren't critical needs this year - OL is. A smart man would trade Tim Williams, Sherit, Bain, and Bostwick for some elite OL talent.

If we land Kirkland and Klepal, would 3 (incl. Gall) be enough, in your opinion? If not, who else would you take on the OL ahead of the a Williams, Sherit, Bain or Bostwick?

So right now we have 13 offensive linemen. Don't see the problem there.

We only have ONE senior offensive linemen. That means we're only losing one... two TOPS. Don't see the problem there.

We have Alex Gall committed, and we are in the hunt for Denver Kirkland. So we are replacing what we are losing.

Lesson of the day - don't listen to that hawaii cane guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I don't see us moving any of the DTs to o-line. I expect at least 3 o-linemen in this class. My guess is we end up with 4.

Golden took Wells late and already switched Alexis to OL, so I'm confident he sees the unbalanced depth chart. We got what we could on the line last year. ****, Avery Young told the coaches he was coming.

We take 4 lineman this year (2 inside, 2 outside) and we'll be fine.

Let's not forget we could avail ourselves of the JUCO route in '14 if we bust in OL recruiting this year.

We will have 14 OL on our roster for 2012.

By the time we add 2 or 3 this year (I want 3). And 3 more in 2014 we will again have around 13-14 OL on the roster in 2014. I don't think 8 upperclassmen at OL is pathetic, not sure exactly how many you can have.

I'm always worried about OL and think the average class should have at least 3. However, I don't think its an over concern at the moment if we bring in 3 for 2013. That said Golden coming in so late into the recruiting process his 1st year hurt the OL depth a bit.
