Ohio State offers Skai Moore

I've heard rumors that if we were to offer, he's ours. But that was months ago. I think the fact that we didn't offer earlier will hurt us significantly if we decide to enter the running soon.

From what I heard he was hoping to hear from them when he received MVP in the camp this summer. But it seems like the U insn't interested in him. He's been a UM fan since he was a kid...so you never know.

um lock if my name is gogeta...fam is um fans...**** i watched the Nebraska game at his cuz's house.....

* u keep schollies open ffor late bloomer s.fla kids like this...thomas, moore, grace would be extremely athletic group///

This kid's recruitment reminds me of Ryan Shazier's recruitment. Shazier wanted an offer, had fam and friends that were diehard Canes, ended up at OTU.

He's been very inconsistent on the field so far in his career FWIH. He'd be a starter for us easily though.

I've seen him play live at OSU many times and the kid has the goods. He would easily be starting for us only problem he has is staying healthy.

All this talk about his size you would think he is 5-10 195.

The kid is HS Senior and is listed at either 6'2 or 6'3 and between 195 and 210.

That is bigger than Grace..FWIW.

if we're looking for a third linebacker we should offer skai...he'll be legit on specials and is another sideline to sideline backer.

He blocked a punt in the Chaminade game and looked to have a nasty demeanor.

You guys are convincing me on this dude, because he has delivered both times I've watched him.

Rayne, gogeta and anyone else, do you know if he likes the U?

We need to be on him now, no need to wait. I'm sure Golden and co. have their reasons for slow playing him though.

Would love that group of LB's, and with the numbers we brought in last year he can shirt to put weight and strength.

Has anyone asked him if he has heard from the staff since the camp? That would be interesting..........

I think what D$ tried to point out was that he was a little bit light in the ***. Skinny legs, small lower body, that's usually not something you want to see in a 200lb kid that wants to play elite college ball.

But you are 100% right. A kid that size right now definitely has room to grow, especially if he has small legs. You can add a ton of weight in the lower body.

Do we know what position Matthew Thomas is being recruited for? He seems great in pass coverage but equally great rushing the QB. If he's recruited to play the DE/LB Hybrid position (like McCord and Cain) then I don't see how we can't offer two other kids as LB's.

Spence/Grace are/were light in terms of weight in HS but both have proportionate build with thick trunks and legs. You need lower body strength and power to take on blocks and physical backs. I think Moore falls into more of the Cornelius/Armbrister body type which is not ideal unless you're playing spread offenses regularly. I haven't seen Moore's film in a while but I didn't think he was Vandy caliber let alone Miami caliber based on Jr film. Even if he's made big strides I still doubt he warrants an offer.

Thomas is definitely being recruited as an edge player, but he's so good that we can put him practically anywhere we need him. If McCord/Terry both end up becoming studs then Thomas should be lining up inside next to them.

I agree that 2 LBs would be ideal. I was hoping for Deeb but both parties have clearly moved on. Trey Johnson is the best "available" backer...he's looking around because of AU's struggles and is taking a trip to UF soon. The staff should do everything in their power to get him to OV. I think he talked about visiting in the past anyway so there might be something there as the cycle develops.
