SEC and B1G branding has been very successful. Perception of ACC is that it is to the P2 what the G5 is to the ACC. Mario can recruit but this is not his doing. He can still get top OL because they are usually anonymous anyways and they know they will good coaching and noticed in the NFL. Not a coincidence his top HS recruits are on the OL and DL. Skill position players want exposure and media fawning.

Media:
Bama loses to Vandy? Wow even SEC bottom feeders are good football teams. UM loses to GT? UM is a paper tiger. Ward winning Heisman would have been massive to show skill players they can get noticed in ACC, but unfortunately I think he fumbled away that opportunity. Now if he has 6 TDs and 400 yards in each game the rest of the season, he’s still got a chance of winning but as of today he’s fallen towards the back of the pack.

this is why I think it feels different this year even though we have been winning. It’s not getting media respect, and recruits see that.
