A few things to consider:

-Every blue-chip player that was committed to the previous regime is sticking with UM. Yes, Cristobal is a higher caliber coach with a much better track record than Diaz. That being said, transition classes always seem to lose a few players here and there, especially those being pursued by major programs across the country. Cristobal retaining all of the existing big-time targets speaks volumes.
- IMG is one of the most heavily-recruited institutions in the country. Outside of Michael Redding (2020) and Brian Hightower (2018), UM has not had luck landing players there. IIRC, Scott Patchan, Ryan Fines, and Tyree St. Louis were the others. Skinner is much better than all five. Winning this battle is a statement.
- Flipping an elite Alabama commit, no matter how you slice it, is huge. This would not happen under Diaz.

These are all signs of how Cristobal is going to elevate UM recruiting to levels we haven't seen in ages.

What I like most, is that Mario is going National.

That will be the key to us becoming a perennial winner, instead of just waiting on our hands & knees for these South FL divas to finally stop being front running biatches, he’s getting High caliber players from anywhere in the country that wants to be Canes.

That’s all that matters, that’s how it’s done.

Will make a Miami committable offer desirable for the South Florida divas. Instead of saying this as a goal Cristobal is putting it immediately into practice and executing. That explosion you just heard was the handlers and street agents and dinosaurs like my Beach High alum, Luther Campbell's head incinerating.

This is so true. Look at our best teams had the Ed Reeds, Shockey, Dorsey, Romberg, DJ.......go back to other teams and think Testaverde (though i still want to kill him for PSU game), Kelly......so many great players from elsewhere. Take the best you can down here, the RBs, some CBS, etc....the positions that make sense as well. But then go get the best of the best wherever they are. And I like that he is an OL and can make headway with OL across the country since that sometimes isn't the best position locally.

Yup

-Has been recruiting SFL (and the entire state) since the early 2000s.
-Knows the northeast to the mid-atlantic region (especially NJ and East PA) from his time at Rutgers.
-Knows the entire southeast from TX to the Carolinas from his time at Bama.
-Owned the west coast from his time at Oregon.
-He's also been plucking kids nationally, outside of these regions, since he was here in the early 2000s.
