Official thread for 2 teams not named UM playing for a title

Living in Alabama all I wanted was for the Alabama/SEC streak to end... Of course it had to be god**** FSU to do it. And hearing Herbstreit say the Miami Ohio State game is one of the top 3 BCS championship games of all time was just the ******* cherry on top.

I swear I would be happier than a clam if Shalala and the BOT dropped dead. They DESTROYED the U, and turned it into Wake Forest south. They are racist pieces of **** who want no part of urban black youth at the school, ruining their precious 5th best academic institution in the ACC. I'm ****ing SICK OF THIS ****. That's MY SCHOOL and thy ****ing RUINED IT.

Where is Duke Johnson from? Stacy Coley? Chad Thomas? Trevor Darling? Artie Burns? Those are just from the past two classes and I could have listed more. So please name the inner city kids that Miami isn't recruiting because of some mandate from the higher ups. I'll be waiting.

I get that you are upset but saying Miami doesn't recruit inner city kids isn't factual. Miami is bad because of poor coaching. That's it. Three bad hires in a row. Blame the administration for making bad hires because that is what has hurt Miami, not some made up mandate.

You ******* pie in the sky fake Cane fan. Miami doesn't use the sliding scale. They alienate a TON of kids every year that other major programs don't, and you wonder why half the coaches and players down here hate on us? Troll us? Miami was the first place to EMBRACE the community, and now it begrudgingly recruits a few good kids with nice grades and refuses to open up for kids like Valentine, and Kermit, and Benjamin, and Wyche, and on and on and on. The university doesn't want people who aren't in all AP classes with 1400 SATs anymore. They SCOFF at an entire generation of alums whose credentials as students they now LAUGH at. They demand our coaches to stay up on our kids academic progress, and they demand them to play with a lifeless demeanor on the field. They refuse to pay the going rate for a staff or HC, when 30 years ago they had no problem spending what was necessary for TRULY qualified coaches.

Ask yourself this, if the administration is really invested in winning the way say FSU is, then why THE **** DONT WE USE THE SLIDING SCALE? You CANNOT win in college football with good students and good behavior. The goddam QB of the NC winner is a rapist. Does their admin care? No. B/c ITS A GAME. It's a sport. It's not 1940 where we live in this farcical reality that our football is made up of the best athletes from our student body. These kids are here to play football. You want to live in a ******* fantasy world where Stacey Coley is really just a student who plays football thats fine. But I don't. And the irony is a kid like Stacy is MORE HURT than helped by this concept. At FSU that dude is 3 and out as a first rounder. Here? Kid won't develop like he should bc they are so concerned with his ******* essays, and he'll be a lower round pick on a **** contract.

Don't believe me? Look at all the kids we have in the NFL who were NOT special here, but are special there. It's a joke. And it's all bc some insecure BOT members for years have wanted to feel better about the fact that they couldn't make Harvard or Yale, so they dedicate their pathetic small-****ed lives to making Miami into a pretend Yale, while alienating an entire community, culture, fan base, AND alumni base.

Our coaches have mandates that big time programs don't have.

Typical for you to launch into name calling if anyone questions your point.

Name the kids that are alienated from Miami. Name the inner city kids Miami doesn't recruit. Miami recruits all the big time prospects that other schools do.

The kids who weren't successful at Miami but are now successful in the NFL is because of one thing: they've finally received proper coaching in the NFL.

And your point about Stacy Coley is absurd. You think he will be a less successful football player at Miami because he is concerned with schoolwork??? If Stacy Coley doesn't develop properly, that will be the fault of poor COACHING, not because of any class work.

All you are doing is making excuses for poor coaching by claiming they are hamstrung by some "mandate". Coker, Shannon and it looks like Golden are simply bad coaches. That is why Miami has been bad.

I don't understand why you Cane fans always use the number or national titles as to say whose a better program. It's all about what's going on now. I doubt recruits really care much if Miami won titles in the 80s vs seeing FSU win won this year. Do you really think you all are a better program than FSU? If we're going to use Cane logic I guess Minnesota, Pitt, and Michigan State are all better programs than Miami because they all have more than 5 National Championships. If you're going to talk about recent titles, how far is recent. In the last 20 years FSU has 3 national titles and Miami has 1.

I respect Al Golden and think you all are headed in the right direction but this 5<3 thing is just stupid when trying to talk trash. The bottom line is Miami needs to invest more into the program if they are ever going to get back to competing for titles on a consistent basis. You all need you're own stadium and need to upgrade facilities. Why do you think one of the first things Jimbo did when he was named head coach was to work on getting the in door practice facility. If your program is not putting the necessary resources into the program their going to get left behind, which is what has happened.

You can't use NCAA sanctions as an excuse either because Miami has done nothing since entering the ACC. There is no excuses for Miami not even making the ACC title game since entering the conference. Even when FSU was down they at least still made the title game and won the conference. There is also no excuses for terrible attendance, Kentucky football has way more fans at their games than Miami.

It's funny that UCLA and USC have no problems having great attendance and selling out games while playing in LA. Yet all we hear is that their is so much to do in Miami as a reason for poor attendance. Those are just two examples, there are plenty of other teams that play in big cities that don't have the attendance problem Miami has. Look I'm not coming here to start anything or bash Miami. I am just saying you all need to wake up and stop the excuses get with the program. I would much rather see Miami be elite every year and UF be down.

If they were actually our rivals you would have a point. Putting fans in the seats are not going to win games. Winning games will fill the seats. I gave up a long time ago fighting this attendance crap. It is what it is. UM is a low attendance school. 10K plus. Both the schools up north are 3x or better than that. Built in attendance. It isn't rocket science. The U didn't do its self any favors by going so far north for a stadium either. Agreed on your assessment we need to upgrade everything, starting with the staff.
