Official Fire Jim Morris thread

A positive change in the head coach should have been made years ago. Let's thank Coach Morris for his many years and success in years past, have a nice party, retire his number, and set this program back on track with a new head coach that will passionately lead the program back to where it belongs.

No way.

It's been less than 5 years, and already 5 out of the 9 position starters from that team have seen time in MLB (Yonder, Yasmani, Tekotte, Weeks, Jackson).

Sorry, I'll take Bobby Hill, Pat Burrell, Aubrey Huff, Jason Michaels, Russ Jacobson and company any day of the week. Add to that, Santos, Roque, Spassoff as the starters and Morrison as the closer. How they lost at all is beyond me.

He's also makes the same lousy impression in his camps to kids and especially parents I've talked to, which includes a recruit's family I know well and had the same pompous *** impression of him. He's been coasting for years. Time for a change.
 
He continues to "sign" the same first round draft picks that have absolutely no intention of ever stepping foot on a college campus, and then complains that the class was decimated by the MLB draft.
 
Problem with this entire program is the pour recruiting. reminds me of what Cardieri was doing up here at USF before he got ran

We're scoring a bit under 5 runs a game, against a soft schedule....god knows where we'd be without David Thompson.



Do we give Morris credit for signing Thompson, or did Golden land him?

Time for this Program to move on without Morris! I still remember his post season speech after our thumping by Stony Brook. He was lost then and had no answers. Now he is just completely dumbfounded! Gators are atrocious this year and we almost got swept not for the HR jack of complete surprise.
 
We are going to get destroyed this weekend. We've beat UNC something like 10 of the last 11. They are going to take out some frustration on us. 3 game sweep with an avg margin of victory being around 7 runs for UNC.

"I think Thompson would have been a Cane regardless of who was in charge" I bet that goes for most canes recruited under Morris.
 
Its time to fire him now during the season. This is just ridiculous! The guy keeps recruiting first round picks, then cries about the MLB. To lose that badly to ILLst is just embarrassing. How many ACC games will he win this yr?
 
How is Augie Garrido doing at Texas? He and Morris both had similar coaching styles, were about the same age, have won a NC, & seemed to be on the decline in the last 3-4 years.
