offense depth chart post scrimmage

I'm a huge fan of McDermott. Kid has great technique, he's smart, and he finally added some much needed strength and size. I believe he's doing over 30 reps of 225, so he's clearly got good pushing strength and a squatty little body, perfect for a center. He's gonna be a player.

I'd be stunned if Davon plays more than the freshmen and if Duke isnt getting more touches a game than any of our backs besides Miller

In regards to Lamar Miller you can never blame a RB for attempting to get paid while they can. The shelf life of the position at the NFL level plus the difficulty of getting a good 2nd contract (since the rookie one likely won't be great) behooves them to get into the league as early as possible.

I'm sure he hoped to have been drafted higher than he eventually was....but hindsight is 20-20. He was one of the only upperclassmen that declared last year that actually made sense at the time.

The RB depth chart is mostly meaningless. Its been pretty clear from the jump that Duke and Crawford were going to be playing specialized roles. James is the workhorse, OT spells him and plays third down, Duke and Crawford are the satellite guys. Its more like different roles on a basketball team than it is a straight 1 through 4 depth chart.

Same with receiver to a lesser extent. Dorsett will play the slot, Hurns and Scott on the outsides. All three will play roughly the same amount.

The only value to this is seeing that Waters and Lewis and Davon are ahead of guys like Lockhart. Didn't expect Waters to contribute early but it looks like he might. Is he a legit 6'2?
