Jim Bates. I expect him to be first choice as he was just let go by Bears. He is boys with Fisch from SEA days. He waa considered last time around. Mcnulty also possibility.

It'll go down like this - "Lemme get this straight...I'll have the ACC's best QB, the Nation's most explosive RB, the ACC's best OL, and be smack dab in the center of the Nation's most talented recruiting area? ...hmmmmmmm...ok, I'll take it."

As long as Golden is here, we'll be fine.

Bates was terrible in USC, no thanks.

Bates was at USC for one year and was the QB coach. Johnnie Morton called the plays. So how exactly are you measuring how terrible he was from afar?

Incorrect sir.

The year Carrol hired him, he was the OC for the Broncos under Shanahan. USC paid him $1M to coach per season and a huge deal was made because a coach left the league to go CFB.

Are you telling me that USC paid $1M to Bates to coach QB's?

I agree- this is a plum job for a guy who wants to come into a job and make splash from the get go. You have one of the best CEO's in the business with Golden. You have a pro league which has put an ultra premium on offensive thinking.

This job has the potential to make some one rich - which is the problem in itself longer term in trying to build continuity. That said - there will be some excellent candidates coming forward for the position. Golden has made a name for himself and the cubboard is well stocked.

Dont care how bad it looks for him or whatever, gotta get him back, it's the most ideal and natural situation given the last 2 years and he was passing coord

I love your optimism Dcanes. I don't think it's that simple even tho all your points are true. If it was Fisch wouldn't be leaving. I just hate the revolving door that's always here in Miami. Have had a ton of success thru the years despite that but times have changed and I think it's harder to win now without continuity. I'm trying to be positive about everything going on and will always feel positive about coach Golden but between recruits playing games and coaches leaving the whole NCAA thing its a biiich. Hope your right and we get a hidden gem for OC.

Jeff Tedford come on down....

I don't know if Tedford would take the gig but that hire would cheer me up instantly. Grrrreeeaaatttt with QB's and great offensive mind. He never came to my mind but would definitely turn up my sunshine meter!

Who is going to coach qb's? It would have been ideal but since hiring Cristobol , we don't have room for another coach.

Would be a great hire, but he's been a west coast guy all his life. Wouldn't shock me to see Al bring in a grey beard like Dana Bible.

if this happened a week ago, maybe he would of left arky. timing really hurt us because we couldve kept mcdonald at wr/oc and hired a qb coach. the offensive side of the ball has plummeted as far as coaching

What about dukes OC or wide receiver coach. I think their offense is similar to our, except their running game. I think it would be a nice step up for either and should fit in nicely? Thoughts?

Good Morning Ken Dorsey
