Notre Dame could join ACC this year now

I disagree as it will all hinge on how the playoff scenario plays out, and if you have to be a Conference champ to be considered then they will join in football

ND makes sure they get preferential treatment, look at their current BCS arrangement. Hypothetically, if conference membership became mandatory they could get more money from another conference.

ND joining the ACC as a full member would allow the conference to rework their TV deal with eSpin once ND's contract is done with NBC & the ACC is the best fit for their academic requirements & their alumni base which is east coast heavy

B1G can offers similar geographic fit, more money, less competition, a more powerful conference in CFB, and better academic affiliation than ACC.

ummmmm, no

Yeah, that's a rough assertion.

I know that the Big 10 has some big academic names, but as far as undergraduate institutions go, you're not beating the combination of Duke, UNC, BC, and Miami in a major athletic conference.

Honestly, I don't think it makes a lick of difference. The whole Olympic and "academic affiliation" nonsense is just parroted to keep appearances up. It's all about the bottom line.

They would only join for Olympic Sports in 2013. I don't expect ND ever to become a full member of the ACC.

Disagree. Notre Dame is going to get money regardless of what conference their football team plays in. Notre Dame to ACC just means the ACC contract moves way the fck higher. IMHO, Penn State is the same scenario. Penn State is 2nd or 3rd biggest money in B1G. B1G needs PSU more than PSU needs B1G (so much that they took Maryland and Rutgers). Move Penn State and Notre Dame to the ACC and see how fast that "ACC gets less money" argument dies.

On another note . . . Does Louisville move in 2013 now?

No, because of the scheduling problems it would cause for the ACC and the Big East, Louisville will not come in until next year. Same with Rutgers to the B1G.

Kickpuppies and Repthegables you obviously ain't familiar with the http://www.cic.net/home

It blows ACC academic affiliation out of the water and does impact bottom lines due to the research money shared.

Catholic 7 schools will keep Big East name, expect to begin new league this fall, sources tell @espn

Departure of Catholic 7 schools this fall could mean Notre Dame joins ACC in 2013 instead of 2014, sources tell @espn

Well that would change the schedule huh

Hey Problem...

ND will not join ACC before 2015 season. They have a exclusive contract with NBC Sports through 2014. Do some research mane!

WTF are you talking about? #1 They're already scheduled to join in 2014, not 2015, so you're point makes no sense. #2 That NBC contract is football only, the one sport they aren't joining in. It has absolutely nothing to do with what conference they're affiliated with.
