As Bethea himself said when he entered the portal, the door is still open on a return to Miami.

Can confirm as of this afternoon that there is still a solid possibility of that return. From the player’s side there is a ton of interest. Miami would like him back as well, but there’s also a musical chairs factor of NIL involved and other portal/recruiting targets as well. We will see how it unfolds

If he wants a bag, he can go elsewhere

Id like to keep Bethea. I believe with a solid off season training program, gain 10 pounds, would do wonders for him.

He has the potential to develop, he just wasn't a day 1 guy physically like the other 5 stars ahead of him.

But there is talent there.

Hopefully he takes a pay cut, and allows us to fill other spots with talent around him.

Not sure that’s what it comes down to. Believe Miami would be a similar range as others.

Remember though, just as Bethea has options in the portal - so does Miami
Haven’t seen mention of Mister Dean since the day he announced he’d be hitting the portal, ship sailed there?

Question for you, @Peter Ariz .

When you look at the language 247 (and others) use, you'll see certain basketball players "sign" and then "decommit". On a comparative basis, I'd say that football players who sign in December tend to enroll in January in much higher numbers.

So what accounts for such an "early" basketball signing when there is such a delay in enrollment? Is the basketball LoI "easier" to get out of, or will schools just routinely allow a player out? Or was the Able decommit permitted due to a head coaching change?

And on a slighly separate note, can basketball players "graduate early" from high school and then enroll in January, with full eligibility? Maybe it's happened, but it doesn't seem nearly as common as what happens in football.

Appreciate you!

Abaev outplayed AJ Dybantsa when they matched up. He may be the favorite player in the '25 class.

I think Wes Miller got a one & done first rounder — possibly a lotto pick. Hope he can get Cincy into the tournament.

Sidebar Calvary’s rise the last half a dozen years is impressive. They weren’t like this when I was in school.

If he is willing to compete for PT then we should welcome him back with open arms.

If part of his NIL demands is guaranteed PT then good luck with your career.
