How much time will our OL give Kayaa tonight & how much pressure can we put on Gardner.
The battle in the trenches is a must win in order to succeed tonight.

In my opinion

Miami OL> Louisville DL
Having a senior a center and an elite left tackle with a dependable left guard will help out the less experienced right side of our line.

Miami DL> Louisville DL
We need to have a tremendous pass rush early in this game whether that be from Thomas, McCord, Muhammad, or Harris. Having a senior like chickollo will improve the quality of the Dline. And I heard louisville has a walk on center starting.

Thoughts?

Can't imagine Coley drawing up too many plays where Kaaya is holding on to the ball very long. I imagine offensively Miami will do something similar to what it did vs UF (for better or worse)... Heavy dose of Duke, quick hitters, and big plays off play action. That is out the window is Kaaya has proven he can make throws Morris couldn't, particularly over the middle of the field.

On D, getting pressure on the QB will be the key. This Dominique Brown kid sucks, I think he averaged like 2.6 yards per carry vs Miami's abysmal DL last year.

Petrino, despite his reputation, is a 55/45 pass run guy. Stop the run, play some man, and unleash McCord/Thomas/AQM.

Haha with the same roster & coaches, right? Glad you brought a lot to the discussion.

I think the o-line will hold up well, but we have to have Kaaya making quick decisions like cancountry mentioned.

I'm excited to see what those pass rushers will do. Having some upper-classmen playing a big role will provide a difference up front. I hope.

Another point of emphasis that we get a non offensive score, a Kickoff for a touchdown or punt return for 6 I see this being huge for us to really bust this game wide open!!!

One of the big key's to this game is going to be Dallas Crawford. Miami hasn't had someone back there who can intimidate, put player's in the right position, and is a ball hawk in some time.. A much improved db group will do wonder's for the d line play

not impressive first post. anyone that claims our DL is better than our opponents will be negged.

I agree with OP. Miami's defensive line has been woefully ignored by CIS posters. I challenge anyone to find a post that references Chickillo or the DT depth chart.

You can't!

Not really worried about Miami's o-line. The d-line, considering what we have seen the past two seasons, scares me ****less.

Last 10 years it almost always comes down to turnovers
- last years games we won +9
- games we lost -4

The key aspect nobody is talking about is Stacy Coley. Devante Parker is great, but you give Stacy Coley a qb like teddy, and he'd be just as good if not better.

Seriously, look at the highlights last year. This kid is amazing. Third best player on the team behind Duke and Perryman

I'll agree on our OL vs their DL. But I need to see our DL actually do it before I believe in them. Yes, Louisville has a new center who is a former walk-on. But the rest of their OL is very experienced, and if the new center really is a disaster they can always slide last year's starter back from guard.

It's about time we start talking about this defensive coordinator IMO

I keep hearing our fans saying this but it's not like Louisville switched rosters with FIU over the offseason. It's true that losing Bridgewater is a big deal but we've made some bad QB's look like All Americans in recent years. And yes, they have a new HC but Petrino has a pretty good track record of not sucking.

On the plus side of the "different rosters" argument, we're down a snickers and up a Duke + Kaaya, so we've got that going for us. But it won't matter if our o-line gets abused like they did in the bowl game.
