And it rarely helps in recruiting as kids and their parents aren’t stupid and there are countless examples that it doesn’t stop the school from firing the coach.

Plus other schools will still negatively recruit. It’s a mismanagement of money that I’m sure Blake James would’ve done if he had the green light.

Yeah, it's not like we know what it means but recruits can't figure it out.

Personally, I would skip it. I'd tell the coach and the recruits that while we support the coach, we demand excellence. We understand the rebuilding process and we're committed to giving things time to turn around, but there won't be any renegotiations until we start to see improvement. Isn't that the kind of program you want to coach/play for? Nobody's going to try to steal this guy away. He'll stay and either fix things or take his buyout if he can't, but he's not leaving on his own until he starts winning so there's no reason to offer him anything.
