They have so few commits, in fact, that I can screenshot them ALL in just one single take of my phone.

So anything they have to say about our recruiting is just pathetic and dumb.

Wonder when Williams decommits . They’re ranked 46 in recruiting talking ****

He should split all his earnings with Jordan Travis. Outside of Travis, everything he’s done on offense has been gimmicky or pedestrian.
I'm not even sure what to think about Jordan Travis as a qb. Obviously, he made that offense work. He turned into an outstanding college qb and was a winner.

Even watching some of their games with Travis as qb, it didn't feel like they were running some type of prolific and efficient offense. Wasn't like Travis was back there just picking apart the defense throwing dimes. I always thought he ended up scrambling around most of his drop backs, but he made positive plays out of it the majority of his last 2 years. He originally started out as primarily a running qb. He was FSU's leading rusher in 2020 and 2nd leading rusher in 2021. Honestly, I don't think he developed into a pocket passer his last couple years, but he did improve in his ability to keep his eyes downfield while scrambling around and being able to find open receivers. It's not like his accuracy was top notch, but he found a way to get it to them. Also helped he had NFL receivers on the squad that last season. Sure, that could be said about any qb, but I don't know how many times I though he just threw it up to Wilson and Coleman and they ended up making a play.

We saw what happened after Travis injury. Their offense was pathetic, even with a stacked roster on offense. That offense couldn't do anything against a depleted UF squad or Louisville in the ACCCG. Now, the defense stepped up those 2 games, but that entire offense was cheeks without Travis. So, I have to give Jordan his props. He was the perfect qb to run Norvell's sand lot offense.

IIRC There is a podcast clip where Travis says he didn't even really watch that much game film because the defenses would switch things up and try to trick him.

Pure backyard football scramble drill offense.

How much of that offense was Norvell's scheme and how much of it was the OC's (Atkins)? I know the OC was also the run coordinator and got fired during the 2024 season. Was Norvell involved in the passing game?

Just wondering if the offense this year will look at all similar to their 2022/23 scheme.

That's what it looked like to me most of the time, especially in the pass game. Four out of every 5 drop backs, Jordan was scrambling around to make the play. Not sure how much of that was by design, or if he had to improvise because he couldn't read the defense and didn't know how to go thru his progressions. Travis was more comfortable running around until he saw an open receiver. He couldn't do it while in the pocket.

You look at our offense under Cam and even under Beck. They may have had to scramble around every once in a while to try and make the play. Cam was a magician at that, but it's not like he had to do that often. Some games more than others, but I remember drives where Cam would just sit back there and pick the defense apart. His first read was off the charts and usually pin-point accuracy.

That's a good question. We do know last year that Norvell allowed Malzhan to install his offense and call the plays. I don't know how much Norvell got involved as the year progressed when FSU started to struggle, but that offense was clearly Malzahn's from what I saw.

I do think Norvell was much more heavily involved in '22,'23'24. After the '24 season, I think he backed off and gave the reigns to Malzhan. That may have also been one of Malzahn's stipulations coming over to FSU. Malzhan had full control of the offense. I really don't know for sure, but that's just my guess. Atkins was the fall guy after '24, but Norvell had his hands all over that offense. He just looked good in '22 and '23 when Travis was there making it work.

Norvell didn’t allow Gus to do it. Gus strong armed him into. His tried to “retire” last spring unless Memphis Mike handed over full control of the O
