Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

I know that is the STATED rationale.

But the reality is that they tried to load up in 2024 in order to go on their Revenge of the Snub tour. And then all their coaches and writers mutually *********ed themselves into "the 2024 team is better than the 2023 team".
and now they are *********ing themselves that the 25 team will be better than the 24 team.

LOL on the Bye loss!

I'll be generous:

(L) Alabama
(W) East Texas A&M
(W) Kent State
(W) Virginia
(L) Miami
(W) Pittsburgh
(W) Stanford
(W) Wake Forecast
(L) Clemson
(W) Virginia Tech
(W) NC State
(W) Florida

Probably the best case scenario for them (a couple of upset wins included). It's really contingent on how much year to year change there is in having the new guy as QB versus last year's cast. Overall they've replaced nearly half the team, and on paper they're more talented than a year ago.
Doubt they beat Pitt or Florida. 7 wins would be a successful year for them

Good lord, what a bunch of horse****. Further proof of how manipulable "snapshots" are.

First, you have to start at the top. Quarterback. Replacing Jordan Travis. It is inarguable that the 2024 FSU roster was more talented than the 2025 FSU roster at the single most important position.

Second, let's go to the bottom. "Special teams". Anyone who cannot acknowledge that the 2024 pair of Fitzgerald-Mastromanno are infinitely more talented than what F$U has in 2025 is just intentionally stupid and stubborn. I don't care what the HS ratings for kickers and punters are, by 2024 those two guys had PROVEN that they were far more talented than how they were rated in high school. At a certain point you must substitute ACTUAL PRODUCTION for high school star ratings. Was Miami "more talented" at QB in 2024 than we were in 2023? YES, good lord YES.

Third, let's look at running back. This one is a fantastic comparison, BECAUSE THE LISTS ARE IDENTICAL BUT FOR ONE PERSON. In 2024, you have productive 4-year running back Lawrence Toafili. And in 2025, you replace Toafili with talented freshman Ousmane Kromah. Sorry, but the 2024 group is more talented on that basis alone, Kromah may not even play in 2025.

Look, if you want to line the 2024 F$U team AS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS up against the 2025 team AS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS, then knock yourself out. But I'll bet that if you recalculated the 2024 team SOLELY BY ELIMINATING Fitzgerald and Mastromanno, then the two teams would have identical star ratings.

The fact remains, F$U's 2024 team was superior to 2025 at QB, RB, and TE, and the two teams are CLOSE at WR. You cannot put "high school ratings" over multiple years of actual collegiate production. And remember THIS chestnut, about how good F$U's OL was supposed to be in 2024:

View attachment 322321

The ESTABLISHED AND PROVEN talent of the 2024 F$U team, at the time that F$U coaches and writers lined them up and lionized them, far exceeds that of the 2025 team. It just does. You can't use the term "on paper" to solely refer to high school. On paper, many of the 2024 F$U players had established their talent on-the-field. In college, not just high school. And even the 2024 "great in high school" F$U players were supposed to have had limited collegiate experience because they were stuck behind 5-stars at blue-blood schools.

You just don't have that with the 2025 F$U team. You just don't.
The ratings for the transfer players are their transfer rating, not high school. And FSU has a lot of them.

Again, it’s on paper. In paper we had higher rated quarterbacks coming out of high school than Cam Ward coming in as a transfer, but even there he was under ranked. If he were to have transferred after this season to another college team, he would probably have a perfect score like Arch Manning.

Again, go back and explain the "special teams" bull**** again. Fitzgerald and Mastromanno were two of the best in the country.

Once again...they had more "talent" in 2024 than they now have in 2025. On paper or in reality. It's truly inarguable, yet here you are bull****ting.

You just pick and choose what elements serve your misguided conclusion and then dismiss everything else. A 5-star who never plays can have a far higher ranking than a 3-star who starts for 4 years, but you won't acknowledge that either.

The fact remains, F$U felt they had a LOADED roster last year, based on ANY metric. They told anyone who would listen that they had 5 (actually 6) OL starters who had all kinds of experience (based on starts and games played). They told us that they had a CHOICE to take DJU over Cam. They had great running backs and WRs and TEs.

Now they are trotting out a lesser QB, behind a much worse OL, acting as if a true freshman RB is a replacement for Toafili, fielding a far less experience TE corps, and playing a roughly similar WR corps to last year. And don't even get me started on the punter and kicker.

And on defense, they claimed they had the best DL in the country in 2024, with pretty darn good LBs and the best defensive backfield in Florida. They are certainly worse (and younger) at DL and DB in 2025.

In 2024, they legitimately believed they were going to get some undefeated revenge for The Snub. This year, they are so bad that they closed the practices to media and the public.

That's reality.

One way to gauge - albeit imperfectly - any roster is the composite rankings from a recruiting site. Sometimes it’s valid. Sometimes you hope that it is….because right now Miami has its highest blue chip ratio since 2006. Sometimes it’s not, as FSU had a weaker composite score in 2023 than 2024 yet performed far better.

Of course we can just throw all of that out. Just go by gut feeling and what you observed not only of high school tapes, but past college performance. Do that and Miami could theoretically have had the number one recruiting class this year. Or FSU. Or Rice. It could all then depend on your point of view.

To me…FSU was historically abysmal because its 2024 quarterback room was far, far worse than 2023’s led by Jordan. That was the chief driver. Have a bad quarterback and everything on the offense breaks down. And if the offense can’t score then the defense wears out. We saw that ourselves in 2023. And FSU’s offense was historically bad - 14 points a game is lower than any team I’ve tracked over the last twenty years.

I want them to be 0-12. I’m annoyed that California somehow screwed up last year. I just think we’re deluding ourselves to expect another 2 or 3 loss season - if their quarterback plays decently. I just don’t think that will necessarily happen.

They’re not beating Vt either . Florida will beat them by 14
VT has been pillaged by transfer portal. They're losing best RB to NFL, Drones can't hit the ocean from the beach. Look on Ourlads at their depth chart, they're filling the roster via portal from schools like Mercer, ECU and Bowling Green. Think they're going to take another step back and fire Pry this year.

Haven’t had a chance to look at Virginia Tech’s roster changes. This isn’t the first time that they have been reduced by the transfer portal; has to be frustrating if you’re a fan of that team. It’s like being a Marlins fan.

I live in Virginia, and know a couple ex VT players from late 90's. It's a sad state of affairs over there.

Those two guys kept most of their games from being completely one sided blowouts. That punter was ridiculous at changing field position. I know their kicker didn’t have many opportunities, but he was automatic. Didn’t miss a FG all season. Wasn’t he 5-5 for FG’s of 50+ yards? FSU may have gone 0-12 without those guys.
