The crazy thing is if they don’t fire him, they have to give him time and trust for a rebuild. They have to understand that this is not a ship that can be righted in a single season, it’s just too bad there. It requires acquiring and developing young talent, and then giving that talent time. If you keep him, he realistically would need three years to let his plan coalesce. So either you just accept that they are terrible for two more years, all while trying to sell yourself as an asset to the big 2, or you amputate the infected leg and try to lure a big name coach, who will then need three years to turn it around.
