Tears Nole Tears (“Offcial”)

Toafili is a good receiving back. I think they'll complement each other well. I expect FSU to be one of the better rushing offenses in the country because Norvell is a competent coach and he'll use DJ's legs a lot more than he had Travis run last year. Where they're going to be in some **** is on obvious passing downs when the whole stadium knows DJ has to throw the ball and his legs aren't much of a threat. Keep FSU in 3rd and long this year and they're going to struggle.

Alabama also had a poor offensive line last year. Their running game was worse than FSU's, albeit against different and likely better competition.

But I remember in the A&M game they had something like 20 carries for 50 yards with their backs. They couldn't run for **** against UGA. They couldn't run for **** against Texas. They couldn't run for **** against Michigan, really. McClellan had that big run early in the game and they didn't do anything after that.
I disagree. To say FSU will be one of the better running teams in the country or even the ACC is saying their offense will be better in 2024 than it was in 2023. In 2023, FSU was 76th in rushing offense and couldn't run the ball against teams with a good DL like Miami and Clemson.

I don't think any of their RBs on the 2024 roster are better than Trey Benson.

DJ U is not a runner. He's willing to run, but I wouldn't call him a runner. In 2023, DJ U carried the ball 68 times for 219 yards. That's an average of 3.2 yards per carry with a better OL than what FSU had. His best game running was 9 for 61 against Washington St. His most carries were 11 for 16 yards against Colorado.

For comparison, in 2023, Jayden Daniels carried 135 times for 1,134 yards. That's an average of 8.4 yards per carry. A QB runner to be feared. Jordan Travis had 73 carries for 176 yards in 11 games for a measly 2.4 yards per carry.

So, DJ U doesn't really add much more to the FSU running game than Travis did. DJ U is not as elusive as Travis. Neither moved the needle as a runner in 2023.

Unless you tell me FSU's offensive line is going to be much better in 2024 than 2023, I don't think they'll have better running stats than last year and perhaps even worse. Certainly, not one of the better running teams. I just don't see it.

FSU was statistically very average on offense last year. They were not a very good running team and that was with Jordan Travis and two NFL receivers on their offense to keep defenses honest. Now, I get that Travis missed three games and that definitely effects their season averages but we played at least 6 games with completely ineffective quarterback play and our final numbers were better than them in almost every category.

They averaged 401 yards per game. 251 passing, 150 rushing. 6.3 yards per play. 4.5 yards per rush.

Miami, with about a half season of decent TVD play averaged 431 yards per game. 258 passing 173 rushing. 6.4 yards per play. 5.1 yards per rush.

These are full season statistics so they take into account both team’s games with/without starting quarterbacks.

FSU was a statistically average rushing offense last year. I find it near impossible to believe they’ll be better. Not only did they graduate their leading rusher but their most dynamic player, Travis is gone and pretty much 90% of their team’s total receiving yards from last year are gone. Anyone who plays them will just load the box and dare DJ and a bunch of receivers who have done nothing in their careers to beat them.

Idk if Daniel's and Travis would be the QB's I would compare him to. I could see him used like Clemson used him where he ran for 300 1 year and 500 another. I don't think he will break long runs like travis and Daniel's. It's going to be more so 3rd&2 4th&2 or goaline situations qb sneaks.

Travis used his legs to but time to throw the ball. That's what made him a weapon. He is really not a great runner or passer.

He had almost 2000 yards rushing and 4.7 yards per carry at FSU. He did run less as he became a better passer but his first three seasons all he did pretty much was run the ball.

Benson was legit him leaving will hurt big time cause I don’t think anyone they have can replace that.
