Wins are 100% tied to recruiting. The question is how much. There is a reason that the schools usually finishing in the top 5 are winners. It’s actually the schools that get top 10 classes with meh results on the field that are more outliers than vice versa. A bunch of times some programs with good recruiters will get the benefit of the doubt but that benefit goes out the window if they don’t start winning.
