Whose fault is it we landed 0 DTs in last year's class?

Apparently, the threat of NCAA sanctions had a huge impact on the DT demographic while being completely ignored by TEs, OLs, DBs and WRs.

Lol the DL problem is development. You don't find a lot of 5 star DTs, DEs but not DTs. I don't think our DL is that bad. They are just bad at what No D is asking them to do. Who remember Forston and our 08 DL shooting gaps and manhandling people. Not one DL player Golden has recruited has become anything including Pierre. They are not fit for this scheme. Its funny as ****, everyone agrees Randy sucked azzz.....but what an indictment on this staff?! Dont give me the offense excuse. Golden drilled that into your heads. The 2008 defense that gave up 472 yards rushing to GT. That went 7-6. Gave up 24.2 PPG(25.5 this year). Had no player with more than 5 sacks or 9.5 tackles for loss(this is shooting gaps and manhandling people?). All this on a team that had Spence, Bailey, Fortson, Sharpton, B Harris, Shields (underused), Dixon(underused), Freshman Van Dyke and A Brown(underused his whole time here).

The defense is not good but people need to stop changing history to make their points.

The post had nothing to do with defending Coach D.
I was actually responding to a person using the 2008 defense as some sort of benchmark of an aggressive defense. A team with 6 (5 in the front 7) NFL players had 3 more sacks, 25 more TFL and 13 less INT(13 games vs 11 games this year). Everyone always complained Shannon played conservative and hardly ever blitzed(out athleted people). Every defense he had as a head coach and defensive coordinator had at least 6 NFL players. Most had NFL first rounders. Yet we havent had a player with double digit sacks since 2006.

There is a reason he is coaching Linebackers for Arkansas.

Nobody is saying Shannon's D was awesome. They are saying Shannon sucked and Golden & Co. can't even surpass the low bar he set at Miami. Moreover, I think people are pointing out that the DLine typically had better results in the previous scheme and they are right for the most part. Even though I feel its asinine to point out how many NFL players Shannon had to work with since there's no way to tell how many NFL players there are on this current roster, you mind listing those 6 NFL players that Shannon had?

For the second time, since you obviously cant read. I didnt say anything about Coach D. I was talking about Shannon and how he wasnt aggressive. And he hardly blitzed. Again it had nothing to do with Coach D. People are changing their perception of Shannon because of their hatred for Coach D. That was my whole point.

Drafted players on 2008 defense were Spence (3rd), Sharpton (4th), B Harris (2nd), A Bailey (3rd), Adkins (6th), McCarthy (4th, only played 4 games), Van Dyke (3rd)

Free Agents- Ojomo, B Johnson, A Dixon, R. Hill, Forston, S Shields

So 30 sacks, 87 tfl and 4 ints with 6 nfl drafted players and 6 free agents that all played in at least 11 games most played in all 13. Looks pretty aggressive.
