Nike Football Combine

The numbers, times and everything else that comes from these camps is suspect. They know who they are inviting, long before they show up. Some kids will get invites based on camp performance, but not many. Fwiw

Kevin Bronson, LB, Village Academy (Delray Beach, Fla.)
6-3, 231 pound linebackers with athletic ability don’t grow on trees, even in talent-rich regions like South Florida, but Bronson showed he was just that Saturday, running 4.78 in the 40, throwing the power ball 40 feet and jumping 31.1 inches in the vertical for a 96.24 SPARQ Rating, second-best at the event. Bronson was a second team All-Broward County pick and is one player who could see a significant uptick in his recruitiment following this event.

Pete/Cam, any info on this kid?

Combine was REALLY crappy. Nike was uber protective of the stats/results, then wouldn't release them to me when I asked for them. Didn't have a system to match the jersey numbers with player names. A very poorly run event when it comes to media cooperation.

They hoarded the info for themselves, and have only put out the things they wanted.

Based on performance at the event, I saw AT LEAST 15 guys I would have ranked above Treon Harris from an athletic standpoint. But, again, Nike/ESPN had "pre-selected" their target players, so as long as those guys didn't run 5.2 in the 40, they were going to be the highlight guys.

I would write a complete recap, but I simply don't have the information I need to do that.

I'm ****ed. It sucks. I'm NEVER covering another combine or camp event. It's not worth it.

Lane didn't show up.

Most impressive: Jaquan Johnson, Madre London, Krondis Larry, and 3 other dudes whose names I wasn't able to get due to Nike's information hoarding.

Does london project to a LB?

We know all about Johnson.
