pretty much what has went on is...they have seen the pretty new shiny trhings (dbs) down here and flat out havent seen the kid or evaluated..so their focused on s.fla guys..then the kid is diddly daddlying around going to track meets and 7 on 7 camps and havet yet came down to visit..red flag,....some one needs to advise that those " rivals camp" precedence to an actual college visit is minimal....or a track meet during your jr year could be skipped...but what do i know...if it was me....that meet was getting skipped

But if you're already a commit, you need to spend time with the coaches, and not focus on the high school camp tours, IMO.

Lol what? If you're a fringe player who needs to show improvement you should ABSOLUTELY be on the camp tour practicing with and learning from the best. Riding around in a golf cart on campus and eating dinner on the bay with coaches isn't going to make you a better player.

And missing 1 camp to see the coaches will prevent him from getting better?

Theres hundreds of opportunities to meet the coaches between now and next february. Idk why yall are making this a big deal.

My limited opinion is that the coaches may be getting the impression the kid is more interested in upping his recruiting profile than he is in developing a relationship with them ... And if that's the case, it's completely his right to do so.

But if the coaches don't think he's a high enough priority kid to put up with the decisions he's making, that's their call. And it looks like it's resulting in him not being a priority recruit ...

If a kid is "all about The U", it would seem like the kid would do everything he could to save his spot, and not focus on the camp circuit ABOVE a campus visit.

To me, it's not a big deal. I don't really care about these recruits as much as most of y'all do. But from a decision-making perspective, I think a committed kid should prioritize meeting with the new staff above a recruiting site camp. Richt has already stated and shown that they prioritize their evals above recruiting site evals ...

That's exactly what I was thinking. Him skipping junior day at UM made absolutely zero sense at all. Made me question his desire to even be a UM player.

This is how I see it too.You don't know where you stand with the new coaching staff what better way to get to know them and them you than attend JR day and finally get you answer. There are camps it seems every weekend,I have to believe the staff felt the same way.

Seems like one of those dudes whose actions (not coming to UM junior day) belie his words (being all about the U). His actions are those of a guy who could take UM or leave UM. If he gets an offer from a place he likes better he'd skip out.

After just talking with him...he went to the camp because he was getting the hint that UM is reevaluating him...yeah come on down but know we are reevaluating you wanna see you workout..etc.etc...so he decided i need to sale my self to those that are interested. . After hearing that. .. I agree with his decision. ..

No he is close to both Darrion and Shaq and would love to play with them again

But why didn't he try to sell himself to the staff instead of other programs? There are going to be many more camps for him to do that.

Like steed dad said him and his son was more then willing to allow the staff to reevaluate him. Steed went to jr day and he was able to solidify himself in the class.

So he wasn't willing to miss 1 camp to come to UM to show his stuff at Junior Day to the coaches of the team that he's supposedly so in love with? If you agree with that, then you're engaging in fckery, my good friend.

He'd rather try to impress other coaches from other programs by going to camps than take 1 day and go to UM to impress the coaches of the team he's supposedly in love with? Nonsense and a really poor approach.

New coaches at UM. He should see the new coaches at UM the same way he sees coaches from any of the other programs he's trying to impress. These new coaches at UM need to do their own evaluations, not rely strictly on the evaluations of that past group of idiots.

He's a decent prospect but we can and should do better. There are more than a few more talented guys down here IMO.

Decent? Disagree. I also disagree that there are alot of kids down here better then him. I wasnt completely sold because I was skeptical about his size and speed. After he measured in at 5'11 175 and ran a 4.5...He has sold me.

I would love to see this list of kids down here that are supposedly better then him. (talking strictly 2017).. That list aint long ill tell you that.

They basically pulled their offer...they are not interested. He has to find somebody else to the prom...because ms new coochie will more than likely be given here coochie to someone else on the day of the big dance... I dont think you give up completely on ms new coochie. ..but he would be a fool not to be working a plan B... and from what he told me...they basically pulled there offer about 10 days before JR day

I can't really fault the kid. They could have at least waited til they saw him in person to determine if he was a take or not. Pulling the offer before JR day doesn't really make sense.

There's a ton of time to find another prom date. There will be a million more of those little camps to attend.

What you're saying is that UM's new staff wanted to evaluate him in person because they invited him to Junior Day. Instead of taking that opportunity to show UM coaches what he's made of, he opted to try to look for another date to the prom. Speaks volumes about his competitiveness and how shallow his affection for UM was in reality.

You don't work out at jr day. You just meet coaches and tour campus.

Makes no since...let's pass up on Bandy and Roberts, two ballers who wanted nothing more than to be canes, for the chance at Davis and Brini, two kids who we could be in a battle with instate schools with until the end. If Davis goes UF and Brini goes FSU then we could literally miss out on all four, then what....I don't wan't to say this is just Rumph, but to me whoever is recruiting these CBs looks like a sizest, they don't care how good you are unless you meet their measurables.

So settle for guys who you think are inferior players (Roberts and Bandy) because you're scared you won't get the guys you think are better (Davis and Brini)? Sounds like a faqqy approach to recruiting.

Exactly.

You don't get a better chance to evaluate a corner than at a camp IMHO. You don't have The benefit of backup like you would in a game. The receiver knows what route he's running, the corner has to try and stick with him. Most battles are won by the receciver. He stick to Greene like it was easy as ****. Sorry, there aren't three other guys in his class that can do that locally.
