Nick Roberts

His film says one thing, he's got the talent to play here or anywhere for that matter. He's got great hips and very good recovery speed. If there's three or four better locally, you take them, but I don't believe that's the case. So it's gotta be something else.

pretty much what has went on is...they have seen the pretty new shiny trhings (dbs) down here and flat out havent seen the kid or evaluated..so their focused on s.fla guys..then the kid is diddly daddlying around going to track meets and 7 on 7 camps and havet yet came down to visit..red flag,....some one needs to advise that those " rivals camp" precedence to an actual college visit is minimal....or a track meet during your jr year could be skipped...but what do i know...if it was me....that meet was getting skipped
U are absolutely right... i told him ..
But the kid is a baller...with a work ethic like Shaq a freshmen already proving his worth in just a few weeks grading out extremely hi in the mat drills or Darrion arguably one of the hardest workers on the team...but like Franchise said early they may know better than me....but if plans to get what they want fail ... that will make it that much worst...i wanted him at UM...but I'm confident he will be ok either way

I think he is a good prospect but I think davis and brini are better. I think they have henderson, davis, and brini ranked as their top 3 targets. Also marco said they are recruiting him hard. They are still recruiting edwards at miramar I believe.

I think the issue is there are guys right in the backyard that are better or equal to him and may also have more of the mesarubles they are looking for as well.

That is the case. Henderson who is already committed, davis and brini. But one thing is in common, size. Davis and henderson are 6'1 and brini is 6'2.

But if you're already a commit, you need to spend time with the coaches, and not focus on the high school camp tours, IMO.

Lol what? If you're a fringe player who needs to show improvement you should ABSOLUTELY be on the camp tour practicing with and learning from the best. Riding around in a golf cart on campus and eating dinner on the bay with coaches isn't going to make you a better player.

wait what??
wtf2.gif

Your a committed..havent spoken much to the coaching staff...but have an invite to their jr day....umm i think those camp tours of them running round in tights and shorts trying to look cute ***uld be by passed...have you ever been to one of these merchandised camps (rivals, nike)...its some coaching..but not much...its pretty much like the combine...you come in with what you got an they want a base of how you are...there probably is 100 dbs at this camp with like 3 coaches....they aint teaching much...run 2 40's...work some 7 on 7, shuttles, then one on ones. Its a meat market...i would of went to the um jr day over that to check my status with the school...like Dunning did

Regardless of what you say about camps the kids get a chance to compete against nothing but top talent. You talk about the lack of coaching but competing against the best in the country and being able to measure yourself against that talent is invaluable. How many times is Roberts going to get a chance to go against receivers like grimes and jeudy this season @ oakleaf?

Btw i'm not positive on this but i believe i read roberts wasn't at junior day because of track.

Remember....people were in love with deion jackson purely based on his 7on7 performances .

That's exactly what I was thinking. Him skipping junior day at UM made absolutely zero sense at all. Made me question his desire to even be a UM player.

We had a CB with same thing happen...who wound up being SEC def player of the week during this past season as a true freshmen

Nick will be ok..i just hope UM don't drop a bird in hand..for the two in the bush...that flies off to Bama

Look roberts is solid but he is not a must have recruit. He will likely end up at a solid mid tier program and will do well.

This is how I see it too.You don't know where you stand with the new coaching staff what better way to get to know them and them you than attend JR day and finally get you answer. There are camps it seems every weekend,I have to believe the staff felt the same way.

thats all i was saying.

Which is why i was happy when UKNOWWHAT said he would be coming down.

Roberts must not realize that we have NFL size dbs on one team down here...his measurables doesnt stick out at first look..and the local guys are visible to our coaches....he is essentially almost an oos player...so him showing face down here would have been KEY to his "UM RECRUITMENT"....He will be a div 1 recruit ..no doubt....but a kid like Marco Wilson would take his spot if need be...especially considering the guy that coached him the last 8 years is now our cb coach.
Brini, Davis, Henderson group already are top targets...

UKNOWWHAT stay on the boy and bring him down when u can...let him know what it is...he needs to keep contact with ANY coach on staff and come down stay in contact ..ask what is his positioning/commitment status

Isn't Wilson coming off major knee surgery and never actually been a starter? IMO if the staff had their preference they'd rather nick roberts be an option than be committed this early but i'm not convince it's going to warrant them dropping him. There's actual discussion going on unlike the Ross situation which i haven't heard a peep about.

They are not talking to him. Pete said they won't be recruiting him. Roberts nor ross will be in the class.

They've evaluated and made up their minds already. They have their sights set elsewhere

1. Davis
2. Henderson
3. Brini

maybe 1 more of..
1. Wilson or Bandy or one of the out of state guys (like Deejay Davis, Broiles, Todd Harris, etc.)

personally I think Roberts is a mistake, but let's hope Rumph and Diaz know what they are doing. Must feel good about Brini and one of Marco Wilson or Shawn Davis...Just seems like both Davis and Wilson will be a war. Just think Nick Roberts looks pretty **** good.

Ross doesn't surprise me.

Roberts balled out on those camp clips.
