NFL.com's ACC Predictions LOL

LOL @ the Fluke pick and all the mopers that are trying to give it credence.

They won it last year, so why laugh at the idea of them winning it again? They actually have good coaching and a good amount of starters coming back. No reason to think they won't be good again.

You call out mopers, but being a blind homer isn't really any better.
Cause it was a fluke. Don't get me wrong they're a good team but to go with the they won it last year so they can do it again logic is weak.

So it's weak to pick Duke to win the Coastal, when they actually achieved that last season, but it's not weak for you to continue to predict top 30 Miami defenses when this staff has demonstrated no ability whatsoever to field a competent defense? Good call.

They didn't have the 18th ranked scoring defense their first year?

That's not even taking into account the defenses at temple.

I am being serious, does anyone on here really think Duke repeats?

Forget about Miami, but does anyone really think they repeat after they lost Brandon Connette? The guy had 27 touchdowns last year as the other QB (whatever you call it). How often does the other QB (not the starter) provide 27 touchdowns without getting the majority of the playing time? Even when Tebow (Fr.) was playing as the "other QB" (as a second option to Leak) he only had 13 TDs.

Now back to Miami, those saying this loss isn't a big deal need to realize he scored 5 TDs against us. 5 TDs against us. This guy was a major weapon, you don't score 27 TDs and not have an impact on the team after departure. All these journalists are only looking and seeing Boone returning (the real starter) and not understanding that Connette was a tremendous part of the offense. Boone can be legit, it can be true. He could potentially go on to the NFL like Thad Lewis but for now 27 TDs are gone.

As for UNC, well I know many of you remember Butch Davis. BD was fired on July 27, 2011. His last recruiting class was the 2011 class (now 3 full classes ago). Who was in those recruiting class (just 2008-11)?

2011: Eric Ebron, Sylvester Williams
2010: Giovani Bernard, Tre Boston, Russell Bodine, Kareem Martin, Jabari Price
2009: Brennan Williams
2008: Jonathan Cooper, Travis Bond, Zach Brown, Quinton Couples, Robert Quinn

As his recruits leave, others replace them. Fedora is probably a better X's and O's coach but Butch brought in talent. Not sure who is replacing these guys that are leaving anymore because BD is so far removed.

No matter how you evaluate our defense, it has been abysmal. Even in 2011, the bend-don't break style of defense was painful to watch. 18th ranked? That's proof that statistics lie. Coaches have their kids this year, so we better see a massive improvement or we can call the scheme and coaching a failure.

Regarding pre-season rankings, of course they're going to rank others ahead of us. We need to prove it on the field, and we have shown nothing. I believe we should run the table versus the Coastal. But no analyst will bet on positive feelings, they go by the results. And last year, we were beaten soundly by Va Tech, were gashed by Duke's running game, and almost lost to UNC if not for Tracey Howard's late interception.

Pretty sure that Fischer meant traveling to Sun Life Stadium isn't a hard road trip in terms of atmosphere and home field advantage. Actually, I guarantee you that's exactly what he meant, and he's not wrong. Sun Life will never give UM the same type of home field advantage as a Lane Stadium or Death Valley gives other ACC teams.

People are picking UNC and Duke over Miami because as the article says: "The Tar Heels are as good a bet as any to win this wide open division, particularly with Miami, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh all replacing quarterbacks."

Reading comprehension, how does it work?

So what did Duke demonstrate before last season to indicate that they were capable of winning the coastal?
Now what does that say about your ability to think beyond whats in front of your face?

You cant possibly be this dense.....
