Good chance, when he arrived at Miami this January he was 5’11 210. His dad is 6’4 himself so he might not even be done growing reallyI think he'll be bigger than 210. I expect Chaney to be 220+ by the time he leaves here. Wouldn't surprise me if he leaves here on the high side of 5' 11" or even 6' and 225.
That would be awesome if half those pan out that wayTyler Van Dyke - Clayton Thorson
Don Chaney - Derrius Guice
Jaylan Knighton - Lamichael James
Michael Redding III - AJ Brown
Keyshawn Smith - Malcom Lee
Dominic Mammarelli - Austin Hooper
Dazalin Worsham - KJ Osborn
Xavier Restrepo - Michael Campanaro
Tirek Austin-Cave - Kevin Pierre-Louis
Avantae Williams - Karl Joseph
Jalen Harrell - Deone Bucannon
That’s a good comparison with the speed and cutting ability, knighton runs more physical than duke though.
The unintentional comedy of these "style" comparisons are instant classics every year. I get the excitement, I get caught up in it every year too, but the comparisons rarely age well.
My favorites from the past include:
Graig Cooper - Reggie Bush
Kylan Robinson - Eric ****erson
Trayone Gray - Darren McFadden
Joe Yearby - Warrick Dunn/Gio Bernard
Mark Walton - Knowshon Moreno
Cam Harris - Rashaad Penny
Usually if you’re trying to compare a style of play you want to compare it to someone the general public has seen and can recognize. It doesn’t mean the player will be as good as the one you’re comparing him to. When D Money says TVD compares to Matt Ryan, he doesn’t mean TVD is as good as Ryan or he’ll be a top draft choice and long time pro. He’s comparing physical and athletic traits. The unintentional comedy of these "style" comparisons are instant classics every year. I get that, but look at the comparisons I listed. You have to squint pretty hard to see those comparisons now - even if it's just "style".Usually if you’re trying to compare a style of play you want to compare it to someone the general public has seen and can recognize. When Cooper came in as a 5 Star, the buzz from Greentree was Reggie Bush. Just google "graig cooper reggie bush" and you'll get articles making that comparison.Don’t know who compared Cooper to Bush, but the difference these days is the prevalence of verified testing numbers.
So at least physically, you are comparing apples to apples with objective evidence.
Avantae Williams- 5’11, 169, 4.52 forty, 4.25 shuttle, 36 VJ
Budda Baker- 5’9, 174, 4.51 forty, 4.15 shuttle, 35 VJ
Stole this one from 247. High-energy players who line up at RB, KR and S.
Tyler Van Dyke 6’4, 212, 4.91 forty, 4.28 shuttle
Matt Ryan 6’5, 224, 4.89 forty, 4.51 shuttle (NFL combine)
Big, pro-style QBs from the Northeast who played multiple sports.
A lot of people have been saying things like van dyke is a statue because he was listed as a pocket passer but he was a 3 sport athlete if I’m not mistaken and obviously that shuttle is really good. He’s gonna he a good oneVanDyke with a 4.28 shuttle is unreal for any QB and especially a guy at his size. That's a RB stat.
Should show great agility in the pocket and running the RPO game.
