Mateer does have them in first place in the Pac 12. Playing against opponents with a combined record of 41 wins and 43 losses

Also he is a one read, tuck and run QB.

If he came to us next year he should experience the talent advantage he’s experiencing right now week in and week out and therefore do similar damage to what he’s doing now

I will gladly accept all praise (and gratuities) for being the first person here to bring him to the board’s attention. He is legit. WSU is having an amazing season, and it’s pretty well understood that WSU may be the most difficult place in the country to try recruit talent. Mateer doesn’t get much help.

Mateer replaced Cam Ward to become their next Cam Ward, and if the staff is smart he should become our next Cam Ward.

Not saying Mateers better than Cam but he’s got Wazzu 8-1 and 18th and Cam had them 5-7. We saw the jump Cam made here with superior talent, there’s no reason Mateer couldn’t have that same level of success next year imo

Last year they played a PAC 12 schedule. This year they’re independent but are essentially playing a MWC schedule. The only P4 teams they have played are Washington and Texas Tech. The competition has been significantly easier.

Well yea, the PAC 12 died so that schedule is not close to as tough as Cam’s was.
