His numbers are very average this year. Just because he played well against us means nothing, as we have seen the season play out. We can do better. Ward was not an average QB that came here and became great. So this is not a situation where you plug anyone into this system and suddenly they are great. Additionally, we will not have the experience at WR we do this year.

LSU's season is tanking and he's certainly not lifting them out of that. But his arm remains the same, and he's a 4th-year junior with tons of film.

I doubt he's anything less than the 5th QB projected in the draft. If that holds, he's gone.

And he's sure as **** not going to ******* FSU, unless his brain is doo doo or they're paying $10m.

You may be right about Nussmeier to the NFL. Maybe he doesn’t care about coming back to improve his draft position. Maybe he just wants to get away from Brian Kelly at this point. I don’t know.

But, like you, I can’t see why he would want to transfer to FSU. Makes zero sense.

Maybe they'll try to pay his dad to be an assistant, in which case they could be a (breaking the bank expensive) package deal.

FSU will have to overspend at unprecedented levels in high school recruiting, the portal, and assistant acquisition.

All while still on the hook for Coach Cornrows’ massive contract…
 
It wouldn't shock me to see us ride with Emory/Nickel next year. I still think we get a Portal QB to compete and bridge the gap, but no matter what our QB play is gonna be markedly worse in 2025 simply because of how gaudy Ward's numbers are this year.

There just isn't another Ward out there for us IMO.

You're correct. Either way, we're taking a step back at QB.

I do think our roster turnover next year, on both sides of the ball, gives Mario an opportunity to really change up our coordinators. At a minimum, Guidry and Miami need to part ways. The defense has gotten markedly worse from last year, and he's shown no ability to adapt to the personnel he has.

People are basing Drones cause of his game against us. We couldn't even stop a broken shoulder Haynes King. Drones has been very disappointing this year and I really hope we can do better then him
