Next week final rankings and potential 5 stars for 2018

DTs and OL are really hard to project, star-wise. All I know is that Kul thinks Nesta is the best DT in the country, and I'd have a hard time arguing with that.

For me, it's Lingard, Nesta, Pope, and Campbell. Even if we don't sign Campbell for some reason, that's more 5* recruits than Miami has signed in the last 4 years I think...

I would throw Brevin Jordan in that group. Definitely deserves a 5th star.

Dude, Rivals doesn't even have Silvera in their Top 250 right now. While I think he's darn close to a 5 star talent, just logistically they would never bump a dude from outside the Top 250 to a 5 star. I think we'll definitely see him move into the Top 100. Anything short of that would be a travesty. Scaife should get a nice bump too, but I think they won't give him the 5th star because they are constantly harping on his lack of length. Every time they talk about him, they always say something like "he doesn't have great length, but the results are hard to ignore".

Jordan will also get a good bump to be comfortably inside the Top 100.

I’m still waiting for Brevin’s 5th Star

Its cool to get the 5th star but we know hes a stud so who cares, the whole country knows hes a baller except these so called experts. He was recruited like he was a baller with bama being super late to the party.

Might get heat for this, but I don't see Pope as a 5* - at least not from watching his Jr. film.

I don't see break away speed, he ran basically all go routes so his route running is TBD, and he lacks elite size. In the open field, I saw almost no shiftiness.

He high points the ball very well for a guy his size, and he looks to be a great down field blocker, which will get him on the field early here. The times I did see him run posts and square ins (maybe 3 times total on an 8 min film), he appeared to have a decent catch radius and good hands. But who puts the drops on their film?

I don't follow the camps aside from what I read here, adn I only looked at his junior highlights. But I just don't see it. I'm not really sure where his upside is, either. Typically shiftiness is inherent, something you can't teach, and I don't think he has it.

He is a nice pickup and can and will contribute, but I don't see top 30 nationwide, 5* film.

My NFL comparison: Greg Jennings

With all due respect, you should probably spend less time watching highlights because you are absolutely terrible at it. Pope is extremely shifty and has incredible break away speed.

Pope balled out at every camp he was at from what I saw, Southridge May have not utilized him properly

Just being contrarian to show why I didn't think he is a 5*.

He is def a nice player that excelled against top competition.

There was always space on the go routes, so he must be blowing by DBs. When I said lack of break away speed, it isn't like he was being chased down from behind - I just didn't see that extra gear that I expect from a 5*.

I got a pending bet with a buddy regarding where the canes finish in the recruiting rankings... so let's go ahead and give our boys their much deserved 5th star.

I have a bet also. We need Campbell for multiple reasons.

Were you watching Mark Pope or Pope Francis from Vatican intramurals?

raw

WTF????

Brevin Jordan should be a 5 star period. I know I have my Canes shades on but f**k it. The dude is the most dynamic TE prospect I've seen in years. Could he be an inch taller? Sure. But not one single person has been able to stop this kid. Luckily, he doesn't come off as an attention w**re like so many HS players these days and he lets his game speak for itself. LOL at the nerds from the recruiting sites that try to justify him not receiving a 5th star. He continues to make them look like the morons they are.
