I realize this goes on everywhere to some extent but seems prevalent in AL. These kids learned this somewhere as they **** sure weren’t born with it. I assume recruits just don’t care?

I think it's interesting that whenever this happens it's all about being disappointed in kids, nobody ever mentions parents. Ok sure, the superintendent is "praying" for the parents in the last paragraph, but not really. There's no mention that the only "struggle" the parents are going through is wondering how their kids are dumb enough to say that **** on video. They don't wonder where their kids could have gotten such ideas because they know **** well where they came from. And Mr. Enlightened Superintendent knows exactly who his students and their families are...he's not at all surprised by this.

Whenever this sht happens it's obviously very important that nobody be blamed or get in trouble or anything...they're just some poor confused kids. And whatever you do, don't call out their parents, you'll get sued to death.

Agree.

Racism is 100% taught , I was raised in a household with zero usage of racial slurs. From my mother to my grand mother’s, nada.

I went to a 50/50 church , majority of my friends were black, probably because of the sports connection. Dated outside my race , it was just normal in my home / church.

I never knew what the n word was until I left home school and went to public school in second grade.

We were just just raised around mixed company , from my moms friends to mine.

I’d be willing to bet majority of racist folks were raised in the opposites type of home than I was.

Show me a racist / ignorant kid I’ll show you a racist / ignorant parent.

Two different local news anchors used the phrase "Martin Luther Coon" in January, and they both said it just slipped out and they'd never used it before. All I could think was that it never would have slipped out of my mouth because I'd never heard it before. Nobody I'm related to or am friends with would say something like that. So the best I can say for those two is that they should choose their friends more carefully, but I'd be surprised if they don't come from racist families.

Mike Greenberg did the same thing years ago and espn buried it. I replayed it for my gf at the time who happened to be AA. I was like that was no accident, he’s used that term all through his life.

I lol whenever I see him kissing the black dudes asses when they’d join mike and mike. Using their nicknames and all , like he’s some down “ white boy”.

Freedom of speech means you have the right to be a racist *******. Regardless, racism is everywhere, not just Bama or the south, but Florida and the rest of the country too.
Its everywhere. I got a couple buddies from buffalo ny and they are way way way more racist then anyone ive ever met. And im born and raised in North Carolina.

News: Rednecks in Alabama are racist.

The players know that **** but they want cars and clothes.

Truth... I went on an official visit to Bama back in the day. Andre Smith was my host, now Andre was born in Birmingham and was a bama boy, and I remember going down frat row in Bama and asking him if we could go to a frat party (being a 17 yr old HS kid, I thought frats would be like animal house) he said nah it wasn't really like that so I assumed the parties just were not good, we then went to a bar/club, afterwards we went to go to IHOP, I see one as we are passing in his (very nice) vehicle and point it out, his response while not verbatim was no, we might run into issues in that one going there this late, and we drove to the other side of town just to eat.

They are aware, but they can avoid it, and go on about their football business and try to get set up to go to the NFL.

Florida is in the South but racists of all colors certainly are everywhere. Government and laws can and have had an impact on the weeds of racism like discrimination but the mind and soul are not subject to man. That is God's turf and the cure is only in the hearts. It is silly to expect kids who see some advantage in going to a certain school to give that up because we think they would be treated better someplace else. Freedom is many things but doing things others want is not really one of them.
