New offer(2014): Troy Reeder MLB/QB from Delaware

I'm just talking about him as a prospect. Doesn't flash any trait that separates him. Josh Witt was 6-2 220 and like 3 times as explosive as this guy.

Not trying to disrespect the guy
I agree with Witt being the most explosive, but no way he was a 220 lb prospect. A good player to make a comparison to Reeder is M. Deeb(IMO), that is a big kid(6'2'' 234) like him.

Regarding your post, at least for me, there was no disrespect. Just a different opinion...

Actaully I agree the best comparison would be Reeder vs 2013 LB & ND mike Deebs. Also I think reeder has better fundementals at this point in the game. As for the speed issue with Reeder, his trainer in delaware is not the merchant of speed swasey is . Collin Mack came in.running high 4.7s and 5 yrs later he runs a laser timed 4.43.

I like the offer and I like the kid, and he has good cover skills. He will in college at 250lbs easily an will get his time down to a 4.5. I wouldn't compare him.to dan morgan, but Collin Mack possibly interms of running a defense.

Only thing I didn't like about the vid was the Notre Dame-looking unis. Big kid for a sophomore and has some good strength numbers. Might make a good MLB.

The thing I like about him most is his ability to call a defense. That's not something that can go unnoticed. He would probably get on the field very quickly because he knows where to go.

When I compare this guy to Kirby coming out of high school I just don't see the same playmaking ability that Kirby showed. Kirby flashed more than this kid.

Collin Mack? Are you talking about Colin McCarthy? Cause he wasn't running a 4.43, ever.

That dude was just straight throwing kids to the ground if love to see him get low and explode through the ball carrier more. He would do some serious damage if so. I dunno about the competition there. But this seems like the kinda kid that goes to BC and gets 200 tackles

Sorry it was a laser timed 4.54, but still not that far off considering he was with swasey for 5 yrs. So Reeder running a 4.65 as a junior high school can shave .15 seconds off his 40yd time easily over his Sr where he will further mature and then with a red-shirt year and college S&C program such as UM's Utough.

You know what would put all this rest is if Reeder came to a UM camp this summer to compete against some S. Fla talent.

Peter can we have an interview with Reeder an also find out if he is willing to come down to a UM camp this summer to test his skills against the best atheletes in the country.

Go Canes!

Plus McCarthy ran a 4.65 at the NFL combine, not that it matters at all. Sometimes I just wonder what in the **** Paranos is talking about. Oh well.

I still think the kid looks like a decent take. If you can't see the potential, then you're just intentionally avoiding it.

Collin mccarthy ran a 4.5 sec 40yd laser time at the NFL Combine, which is what really impressef many scouts per news stories.

Here is a link to his results.

So this reeder kid isn't that far off given he 1 more yr in HS, then 5yrs of college S&C training.

So that link should put the speed issue to rest, also at MLB quickness and accelaration are more important. Case in point look at how luke keuklie from.boston college ran step for step with lamar miller the whole game 2yrs ago.

Go Canes

It's fun looking at some of the stupid comments made here years ago on this board.

He was definitely a worthy recruit.

Reeder ended up signing with Penn State and started as a freshman. Despite having a good freshman year, he transferred to Delaware to play with his younger brother. He has been starting for the Rams.

The only problem with recruiting him us that he was not likely to stay. He wanted to play on the same team as his younger brother. I guess family is very important to him.
