True story, one of my boys went to a MJ party when he was still in Chicago. He worked for this marketing firm that did business w MJ. So apparently one of the guest came in w Adidas on, & MJ sent word bro had to either leave or take em off. Lol.
So he gave a diplomatic answer here, but like w/ everything else, he took it personal that they passed on him when he really wanted to be repped by them. Adidas was going through a lot of turmoil at this time, & the NBA was a big man game at this time. I got where they were coming from; but, unfortunately Adidas has consistently got behind the wrong athlete in American sports. Soccer? Adidas is $$.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, about whether that's a true story or not; I believe it 100%. LMAO. Some people would say Mike was being petty there, but they don't realize that he's arguably the most ruthless competitor in the history of sports. This requires u to take every little slight & use it as motivation, so that the fire within u, can burn hotter than anyone else's. Last of a dying breed, brotha
I wanted to ask u whether u watched the movie Air? I believe it details how the partnership between Jordan & Nike materialized; I still need to watch it
The 90's were truly a very special time to be alive; not just as a sports fan, but also culturally. Unfortunately, social progress occurs in a non-linear fashion. I think me & u are around the same age, so I'm sure u can relate to what I'm saying
Any idea when Carson Beck jerseys will go up for sale?
His jersey should’ve been up for sale; however I just realized he’s now wearing #11, which is Dorsey’s #. We haven’t had a QB rock that # since.

Uhhh...Jacurri?

Yeah, there's been numerous accounts of MJ telling athletes to take his shoes off. Lol. From Jordan brand athletes, current NBA players(even on his own teams) & athletes in other sports, because ultimately if his brand isn't associated with greatness it will reflect poorly on him.Oh brotha, I tell no lies. Lol. It’s 100% true. Matter of fact, Andre Ward talked about his little encounter of it. Lol.
Yeah, that's true. But since he's been retired for almost 25 yrs, I always wondered what would happen if MJ allowed people to customize his official shoe releases like a NIKE ID product, instead of limited releases? Don't u think Jordan brand would make more money, & also help advance sneaker culture by allowing more people to express their style? I'm definitely not that knowledgeable about sneaker culture, so I could be wrong here.“Air” is one of the best sports biopic I’ve seen. It’s saved on my demand memory. First off, I don’t think we understand the gravity of that deal; w/o Mrs Jordan’s business savvy, we don’t have the sneaker industry that we have today. It was literally a Pioneer, landmark deal.
If this was the 90's I would be telling every man to become a Simp!I agree w/ u 100% about the 90’s, brotha. Me & friends are disgusted by this current generation, & we’ve gone through various subtle, yet pivotal changes in “reformation” that’s lead us to our current state of affairs.

Yeah, MJ is an *******; but, once he sees u’re real & not full of ****, he’ll be ur friend for life. He’s loyal af, but it takes a while to earn that loyalty. There’s stories of retired players who are still taken care of like Rip Hamilton who he told, “u’re not worthy of my shoes”; a yr later, became a preeminent JB athlete. Vin Baker is still taken care of, as well, from what I understand.
Imho, I do think JB needs a fresh makeover. I think they need to balance it out:
-Street or Fashion Collaborations: Limited
-Grails: Limited
-ID for certain silhouettes: General Public
-Non Grails: General Public
In a society where we have fiends for exclusivity, u can’t water down the brand, too, much. When you have rare or high end collabs, u have to create a supply and demand frenzy. Let me give u an example, let’s take Kobe’s line:
In 2023, the masses were complaining that Nike were limiting supplies and his real fans didn’t have access. Fast fwd to 2025, Nike makes them readily available, & they are now complaining they r flooding the market trying to capitalize off a tragedy. Lol.
Consumers r dumb af; one minute they complain, the next they complain. Lol. That’s y, imho, u have to have a fine balance of exclusivity and availability. It behooves JB to continue to associate w/ winners, and strike a balance between some models being absolutely limited, while others should be able to be ID’d.
OMG….this makes me SOOOOO happy
I liked the fabric adidas used, but I’m a New Era loyalist. Love this move. The adidas hats are one of the few things I dont mind fit wise.
But this is great. I need to pick up that white/orange/green hat. I'm cheap and keep putting it off.
