It’s amazing how everyone is assuming and/or projecting our future qb situation. Let’s just wait and see how the players adjust to this new system and coaching. I went back and watched each player senior high school football films and each presented strengths and weaknesses.
Martell was viewed as the best runner. and he throws a nice fade route passes. He is a one read and prefers to keep the ball on RPO scheme. He seemed uncomfortable with mid range passes, but he has that serious competitive spirit.
Williams is probably the most polished quarterback and he will progress to an alternate receiver when throwing the football. He will run as needed, but strength is getting the ball out to the right receiver.
Perry is most comfortable in spread offensive scheme. He is the only one who can make all the throws, but never had proper coaching to improve mechanics. Feet and throwing elbow are in wrong position, but can be correct. My only question, does he understand what he sees?
Weldon is the second most polished and present best feel of pocket and passing schemes. He can lead and has toughness about his play.
Overall, we have a solid stable, and the best player will surface. No, we don’t have that elite quarterback on our roster! Coaching can compensate by getting the ball in space to: Dallas Thomas Jordan Pope Davis Lingard Hightower Mallory Njoku Ezzard Hartley Wiggins Burns and move Bethel to WR!
