Henderson should be starting because...

?

b/c Jared Wheeler sucks as a guard in pass blocking, and Henderson is more consistent then Flowers and is just a better tackle then Linder.

Well clearly there's something else going on that has caused the coaches not to have compete faith in him.

obviously it's whatever he got in trouble for b/c he was starting before that but at some point it's time to get real and just let ur best players start

How is David Gilbert doing? Don't recall hearing his name too much in the last couple games. Sorry for possible ignorance :D

Artie is going to start eventually just not sure when. Maybe we'll see Gunter or Burns rotating a little at safety so that we have four of our best DB's out there at all times.

Which dbs play in the passing down 4 - 2 - 5 (I think that's what we use)?

CB and safety require totally different skill-sets, reads and responsibilities.

You don't just throw a CB at safety during the middle of the season and expect him to flourish.

get 30 off the field. I don't care how, we must make it happen. He is a huge liability out there. Great guy but a special teams player ONLY.

I 100% agree with this. He looks slow running out there man. Constantly giving up run after catch yards

Gunter is a liability?

What has anybody seen from Burns that would make you think he's gunning for somebody's CB spot? Our Corners have been extremely solid.

Curious also. To me Gunter has been lights out. There was a blown coverage against nc but that could have been safety. Dude has played pretty solid to me

30 is Highsmith. I saw Thurston suck him in and pass him running after Ebron. Good guy but he wouldn't start for UCF, FAU, or FIU.

In his limited time he locks onto his guy and has the man to man skills to be an elite CB. Not a knock on Gunter, Burns just has that next level feel to his game, seems like a kid that can take away a side of the field.

It cant be a knock on Gunter b/c you just described what he does in games

Minus the gaffe on the TD pass in the 2nd quarter that he totally misplayed. I like Gunter, Artie has All-American potential and I feel like he's going to eventually overtake him for the starting job. It's nice to argue about good players possibly being passed up, it means the depth we have been clamoring for is finally here.

No sir. Seriously doubt that happens barring injury. This happens every year...you see Artie lockdown a WR in garbage time vs USF and now he is instantly an AA this yr. Let the kid develop a bit before placing the crown on his head. You cant replace experience, reps, and an entire offseason of strength training.

Ok yes high smith is slow. On that play looked like 30 was running backwards

Your boy also needs to take a Geometry class and carry a **** protractor in his back pocket. He took the worst angle Ive seen all year on that play.

I like Gunter's tackling ability, but I think Burns on Greene is the match up I would want.

Im sure glad our coaches are running the show instead of us.

I just listened to Coach Golden's interview with Joe Rose from this morning. Coach seemed to be focused on correcting mistakes (he kept referring to "technique"). It seems as if he leans toward playing perhaps less talented but more experienced players over perhaps more talented freshmen. He mentioned the obvious breakdown between Gunter and the safety, without harping on whose fault it was, but pointing to it as an example of something we need to fix. I think that several cbs will get serious playing time in the upcoming games. I am almost expecting Burns to come up with a couple of picks this year, but more as a complement to Tracy and Gunter than as a replacement. I am really glad that we have all three of them.

It will be a great day when Highsmith is no longer eligible to play another snap for this program. I would rather have a cactus on roller skates playing safety than this dude.

Indeed. A cactus on rolker skates would have much better range and overall playmaking ability.
