New commit! (De'Andre Wilder)

Good deal.

His size and speed combo should be able to contribute immediately at Special Teams while they groom him for LB.

lol but if he went to Auburn and balled (which he probably would have done), same poster would have been like **** Richt in two years

**** some of you need help

This board is funny. If this had been a year ago to date this entire board would have shut down over this commitment. Wilder was the #1 LB on the CIS board a year ago. Now he's a bum. Lol.

Let's see..

Carol city kid? Check

Need position? Check

Good size and speed combo? Check

Can get to the QB at the LB or DE position? Check

Not sure why all the "meh" posts. This is a great pickup.

This should help us VAULT up the rankings. 3* stud......come on down

I get that you hate Richt, but you're better than this.

I'll be honest I haven't evaluated his tape and he might be the goods but the way this recruiting season has gone this far......this isn't the class Richt needs to get back to the top. Keep getting beat for elite kids without much light at the end of the tunnel. If Richt wants to make up for his schematic deficiencies then he's gonna have to kill it on the trail and he isn't even coming close to that ATM. Shouldn't take it out on Wilder I guess.

carol city has been great to us.
Hes a tweener....but plus speed kid..with solid measurables....

dont know why cc used him at de...but **** last year he looked legit at lb...hes an olb..

Crazy to think this dude gonna be our 2nd string Sam or Will for 3 years

Love it when we take players from the City. Need more of it.

Could be a good one of he puts on the necessary weight

No. Just keep the speed

In college it's possible to gain weight and explosiveness.

I know a lot of you are still traumatized from previous regimes, but trust me, it's possible.

Lol, yep. Darrin smith is a great example. Guy was a 190 LB dude running a 4.7+ when he first got here. You can absolutely get bigger and faster when you haven't been weight training wth a professional.

It was actually sarcasm because I knew someone was going to say it. Yes, 210-220 will be ideal for the kid because like it or not you can't play D1 LB at a high level at 195-200 lbs.

Our new staff and S&C go about it the right way. No need to worry about the bad weight anymore as they look to maintain body fat percentages and gain weight with muscle mass.

Wrong on all levels. Foolish comment. This is exactly what we need. Great measurables and huge upside- big time SEC schools wanted him. Could develop into a tremendous starter later when he is an upperclassman but for now he can provide quality depth. When he's a sophomore I'd be fine with him taking some reps from one of the three stud Frosh linebackers from this year to give them a breather.

Welcome to the U!

If enough players transfer out, then it would be awesome to get another LB like the JUCO or Breon Dixon and then be able to redshirt one of the incoming LBs if needed.

Also, does Wilder's dad/uncle still post here?

Love the pickup. I thought he was a goner, so I basically had written him off. The dude can play, everyone down there knows that. He has nothing but upside and that's after being a baller already.

Frankly I thought the coaches were insane when some said he wasn't a priority. Steed and him are monsters who won't be asked to play right away providing we stay healthy with the three Frosh. One day, Mark my words, mother ****as are going to be saying, they had these dudes on the bench as backups?
