New 247 Rankings

just looked at the ratings and i have no idea what the op is talking about.

Jordan-54
jobe-58
artur-62
Hightower-74
pope-87

these are the top 100 players

You potentially have no idea what I'm talking about because you potentially can't read. I clearly state in OP that these are 247's own rankings, not the composite rankings. You know, because 247 updates its own rankings, not the composite rankings.

wouldn't the composite be more important?

ok?

Are you serious they dropped every single commit but 3, and only raised 2 of them? What on earth?

The only rankings that changed were people who attended those two opening regional in the northeast. That means that recruits got big bumps and they jumped our commits which caused the marginal drops of like 4 spots a recruit.

(because like 4-5 recruits jumped ours)

I wouldn't read into the rankings moving a whole lot. Guys are just sliding up and down as they adjust rankings following the Regional NFTC's. It really has nothing to do with the other players at all, just a natural part of it. Our guys will have their rankings adjusted either after the spring evaluation period or something during/after the summer. Our commits/targets at the Opening will be adjusted following that camp as well. After that we won't see anything until after their SR seasons are finished, except for the guys that will be playing in the All-American games.

Not worth freaking out over. The times I mentioned above are the times where we can really criticize them.

Campbell moved up 98 spots to #40 in the country.

Our coaches visited him today

Did his rank drop after the meeting?

Obviously. Just to cue you in, there's a built in algorithm at 247 that marginally drops prospects after every time we visit them, moderately after every time they visit us, and substantially after every time they commit to us. The thinking is that if they undervalue our prospects, our prospects will start to think they're worse than they actually are. This psychological effect will then effect their overall play throughout their 3-4 years at Miami. These recruiting services are partially to blame for our decade+ of irrelevance.

Considering that it includes espn.. not at all

Funny thing is there is really nothing going on right now to really justify moving anyone anywhere... Job security at 24/7 I suppose?

Frankly who gives a ****, if we land every current commit and add a few more quality ones on top of this, you can't tell me there is a better class in the nation.

We'll see our guys move after the opening, most likely up. It's pointless now anyways, sites are just shuffling names around. When it's all said and down they will be where they belong. And if not, who cares? We know we're getting studs.

If the rankings never change, nobody will bother to check them.

Y'all honestly worried about the commits rating right now? All I know is none of these rating matter now because everyone has a senior year to play.. some may get the huge boost they deserve and some may get bumped down.. All I know is when I watch the film.. I actually like what I see even w/o cane shades on..

247 rankings were updated after Charlotte, D.C., and N.J. Opening, so naturally some of our guys dropped as some of the players who impressed moved up. More so a drop in ranking rather than rating. Note: these are 247 rankings, not the Composite, although it will have an effect on the composite.

#Rankings (spots dropped/gained) Player

#19 (neutral) Pope
#33 (+2) Jobe

#138 (-8) Sitkowski
#14 2 (-8) Hall

#14 9 (-5) Reed
#185 (-4) Frierson
#244 (+1) Wiggins

****, clemson lining up to have a top rated class in the country again. Props to them. Thomas and Henry?? Wowzers/

And after the opening our guys will likely get bumps. These guys didn't drop because they did something wrong, they simply got passed by guys that performed well at the latest camp. Everyone is going to move up and down over the summer multiple times because of all the camps. The narrative that Miami commits always drop is bullsh*t so quit crying about that and making yourself look like a b*tch. Pope has had a tremendous jump since he committed. Same with Brevin who is now #1 composite TE. Gurvan also got a nice bump.

Alabama has had the top rated class the past 7 years, not sure what you mean by again. But they do have some very highly rated recruits. With that said, they aren't taking a big class from what I've heard so it's doubtful they will finish ahead of us.

Correct answer. Close thread.

EDIT: BTW, I didn't mean this to denigrate OP or anyone else. Appreciate the thread updating what our recruits are doing, and I'd rather give CIS the clicks than any of these national sites. But this isn't a big deal, or evidence of bias. It's just something vaguely interesting during a slow news period. DTP is dead right. Adjusting the rankings at this point in the year based on the camps makes some sense, sure, but bottom line is the shuffling keeps degenerates like us coming to their website at a time when there really is nothing of interest happening.

BTW, along those lines, much props to the interviews, podcasts, position pieces, etc that CIS staff are generating. Really appreciate the actual and compelling insight they provide. Mazel, mazel! Good things.

Honestly I'm just happy to be debating whether or not our croots should be 5 stars or top 100 instead of debating why half of our class even got offers.
