40 years old and a fan for around 35ish years. Some of my earliest memories are at the OB. Followed all the recruiting and every bit of info I can get ahold of for the last 20 or so. I think this last game was one of the most devastating losses of my entire fandom. Was so excited after all this time to play in some nationally relevant big games at the end of the season. Like we have not done since like 2002. With everything riding on winning against Cuse and to go out and get a 21-0 lead only to blow it like that. Wow. I was not really ready for the season to be over. My mind fully anticipated atleast two more big time games with the prospect of more. Now another offseason full of question marks and concerns about how I can’t say for sure our roster will be this strong going into next season. Just a painful painful one. Wish I could remove the part of my brain that is such a fan of this team. I invest too much emotionally in this program.
We’re about the same age, length of being a fan, & fan experience.
Imma tell u y I’m most disappointed in this season; b/c literally w/ the caliber of QB we’ve had, one we’ve not had since the 80’s, + this schedule, even though the goal was just to win 10, that was before knowing just how bad this schedule would be.
Quite frankly, out of all the P4 teams we had quite literally the easiest path to our respective conference’s championship game.
I did this last night after rewatching the Syracuse game just to see what went wrong; I complied our schedule since joining the ACC in 2004, This made me sick af:

This was the 3rd easiest schedule we’ve had since joining the ACC. 2007 was the easiest, but that was also coming after the FIU scandal, along w/ off the field issues and Randy’s 1st yr as a HC ever. 2013 was the 2nd easiest, but that was coming off the clouded probation. Also, neither team had the supposed coaching & definitely not the caliber of QB.
Syracuse is ahead of schedule, but to lose to a 1st yr HC who had his team literally running circles on us, in a must have it game up 21-0, I have no words. I still don’t.
