Fricking Golden. Sick of this no depth chart, coach speak, keeping things internal bull****.

At least when coarches start doing this, the writing is on the wall.

My boots on the ground review: Next time people say Canes fans live in the past, they should come to Nebraska. People here are still ****ed about the two point conversion. They want blood. In truth, this is ******* depressive. It's like watching two old great heavyweights fighting at the age of 50 for one last money grab - this used to be awesome but now it's kinda sad.

However, if these Canes can pull off a miracle, god damm, the Lincoln suicide hotline might explode. Either way, I'm ready.

If you're going to make the joke which is really the lowest common denominator joke about Nebraska around the entire country then you could at least make it right by spelling it as 'Nowledge.'

Personally I've always thought the N stands for 'National Championships'.
 
Anyone know what my man Gall's injury is?

It's frustrated me to see him not push McDermott or Isadora and seeing Linder in there at center made me sink. But if he's hurt that would explain a lot.

I don't hate Nebraska at all. Very classy fan base at every game I've attended, including one at their own stadium. Many of the sharpest handicappers I've met in Las Vegas are from Nebraska. That city has a Nebraska slant for some reason. The Cornhusker games have been carried on local radio for decades.

More than anything, I appreciate Nebraska because Tom Osborne was not a simpleton like so many fans who mocked him in the '80s and early '90s, including tons of Canes fans. Every time Nebraska lost those key games the media and simpleton conclusion was that Nebraska needed to shift to a passing offense. After the 22-0 loss in the 1991 season Orange Bowl, there was literally laughter in the press room when Osborne calmly detailed that there was no plan or reason to change the offense, that Nebraska was moving in the right direction but simply needed to continue to stock up on superior athletes. I remember all the talk radio callers who ripped him unmercifully for that conclusion. If message boards had been prominent in that era the summations would have been even more ruthless and condemning.

Obviously, and very predictably, Osborne was proven correct. Officials screwed Nebraska when they nearly defeated Florida State as 18 point underdog for the national title in 1993. The gorgeous option and run oriented offense when fully manned was more than enough to buckle the Canes on their home field in 1994, and then unleash the awesome devastation of the Gators in 1996. Another destruction and title followed, this time against Peyton Manning.

I think '01 Canes are superior to '95 Nebraska but the votes are often split and fan consensus on college football sites generally tilts toward Nebraska. Meanwhile, that '95 Nebraska team never would have existed in that form if Osborne had buckled to fan pressure and altered the offense.
