Tourney? We are in 8th in the ACC. Gonna take a lot more than a BC win to make it.

You sir, have no idea what you're talking about. We were projected as an 8 seed before tonight, or comfortably in. We're probably a 7 seed now. beat BC and we're a 6-7 seed. We're going to easily make the tourney if we get to 20 or 21 wins (we're at 19 now).

As for Newton. He took a couple of bad shots, but he had 12 points, 4 rebounds and ZERO turnovers, but you guys just can't lay off of him for one **** second. There are plenty of games to rip him.

Bigger minutes and bigger production for Izundu tonight. Good to see. Helps to have an actual defensive presence down low too, instead of Huell and Amp alone. (That said, that Lithuanian kid for ND did go for way more than his average tonight.)

If Izundu continues to get minutes at the 5, Huell could lose some of his minutes at the 4 to Waardenburg too.

The last shot was maddening, but Newton played pretty well including making a play that might have saved the game (splitting the double team and dishing to Amp for a layup). Lykes was efficient in his minutes too.

Amp is still in an offensive funk. And Vasiljevic only played a couple minutes total, though he did that one three when he was in there. We'll need those guys to make some plays if we're going anywhere in March.

We shot threes better than free throws... It'll never stop being frustrating watching the bricks from the line.

Newton is playing some of the best ball he has played while here. He still sometimes looks only for his shot but the number of instances of that has been reduced. He was rock solid on D tonight against a player that put up 39 points his last game. He also made very few mental errors tonight. I have no problem with his taking a reasonable shot at the end. Yes he missed but it wasn't a bad shot. He is the senior and he should be taking the last shot if no one else is open and they weren't.

As I have said here many times Newt can be quire effective if he gets the calls. If not sit him. Very happy with the changes tonight even if we lost IMO we are moving forward for a change

Nothing comes easy this year. Nice win. Izundu really picked us up in the second half. Walker showed out too.

Newton has his issues, but he was a net positive tonight for sure.

FT shooting is terrible. It's just not that difficult.

Man shout out to izundu, he led the resurgence in this game

If he could stay out of foul trouble, he would be a solid 6-8 PPG per night guy, with the occasional huge night. He has the ability to finish at the rim, and actually has some post moves. I've never seen a guy get some of the foul calls he gets. It's amazing how often he's actually in position, and still gets dinged.

Agree on not getting much from Brown, but if we get anything, it can help. A lot of people forget he was our leading rebounder, so we lost 11+ points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per game.

Nine wins will put Miami on the good side of the bubble. Remember, Miami has two extremely winnable home games remaining. Just by taking care of business at the Watsco Center Miami will easily be in BEFORE the ACC Tournament. Remember, this is by far the weakest bubble we've seen in the last 15 years. That's why 9-9 in the ACC will most likely get you in. That said, you don't want to rely on the committee, and Miami has been screwed before.

Just having an additional body would be a huge help. I don't know if he would be fully mobile, but BB at 60% would be a big time upgrade for this team.

Keep in mind I am no medical expert. I also never diagnosed him. If Brown doesn’t return by that time, don’t bring him back this year. Just let him get healthy.

I didn't say Newton won the game, I said without him we don't win. Big difference. It doesn't excuse Newton, but why does it excuse Lykes? Can't they both have good games?

Why stop there? Because the game didn’t end there, right?

And on the next offensive series he was selfish and took a terrible shot. But for Izundu, bailing Newton out, this game could be a different story.

A senior doesn’t take that shot with 7 seconds on the shot clock and a much bigger defender right in his face. A senior passes the ball, kills more clock, to the open man.
