***NCAA Tournament THREAD***

UF fans will be insufferable for quite a while, but they did have the best team with a few guys who should play in the NBA, and possibly their entire backcourt of Clayton (lottery pick), Martin and Richards.

We had a 3 headed monster that was as good in Pack, Wong and Miller, but we didn’t have the inside presence to deal with UConn (maybe no team did that year). Omier was a very good player but we needed 3 more like him, as UF had this season with their rotation of bigs.

Yep. That's three Natty's in basketball this century for them. Without even really trying THAT hard. A new "Blueblood" to the sport, even though a total football school. Sometimes fate and luck step in.

this one is the most random title of the three. the billy d teams that won back to back were very good and elite. this one is such a one off and random. they just gelled together and worked well. if we play anyone but UConn in our final four year, i think we win it all.

the SEC in total though is what the ACC was in hoops. they were a dominant conference this year and last too.

agreed. hes a 4 year kid who just had a magical run. **** be a second round or late first. NBA isnt taking a fully developed 4 year kid in the top half of the draft. he met most of his growth ceiling, but **** have an NBA home for like 10 years being a good role guy.

Maybe you and @hoops156 are correct that I’m a prisoner of the moment because of his NCAA run. But I love his game. Even yesterday when he was getting doubled on the high ball screen, he was a willing passer. And when he finally got it going, I knew UF was going to win.

I think Clayton will be an all-star and at least as good as Jalen Brunson.

I could see him outplaying his draft slot for sure, I just don’t see a 6’2 guard without elite athleticism who is going to be 22 at draft night being a lottery pick. Maybe end of the first, I think a smart team would take him there to get the full 5 years of control.

****. As much as it pains me to say I wouldn’t mind Boston taking a flyer since they’re probably going to have to move off Holiday this offseason.

I could see a smart team like Boston taking him and developing him with patience, like Dallas did with Brunson. I hate the C’s too.

UF evidently did not have even ONE Top 100 HS player on their roster this season. First time that has been true of a Natl Champ.

Ah see I’m a Celts fan but it ****** sucks seeing Horford gator chomping and I’d rather not have to deal with more of that lol

Suffering Sixers fan here since the mid 1970’s.

I grew up hating the C’s for their success. But i loved Larry Bird, Bill Russell and greatly respected Red for what he did for the game and his never ending desire to win. I read “Red and Me” written by Russell and it gave me great appreciation for the organization, as does the HBO documentary Celtics City.

It’s a great organization that I can literally never cheer for. Them and the Lakers

UF has also have been winning in the academic rankings. Credit where credit is due. UF has an excellent reputation for a public university.

On the other hand, UM plummeted in the rankings post Shalala. We have sucked at sports and academics for 20 years. There is something fundamentally broken at the top, but it will never get fixed as the BOT is like Congress- they will never admit they’re the problem.
