NCAA looking at UNC again

Fellas, I posted this on another thread awhile back. It's an article from our good friends over at Yahoo Sports, that basically outlines impermissible benefits to 5 $EC players (the same evidence Yahoo reported on Miami), yet the NCAA never bothered to investigate. In this day and age, I'm afraid because all the behind the scene bagmen and street agents, Miami will never win another championship. Unless we get elite coaching (which likely won't happen unless we land an up and coming coach), it's almost impossible to get to the level of Alabama because we just don't have the revenue to hang with those guys. We are a small private school with limited funding and alumni. The only thing we really have going for us is the location of the school relative to recruiting.

Let's chase Miami, UNC, Oregon, etc...while the $EC conducts bu$iness a$ u$ual.

Problem is the SEC is good at what they do and virtually no one associated with their shenanigans is going to make a peep. As you said it's how they do business and have been for decades. You think anyone's going to rat out Nick Saban, he runs the state.

I still find it funny the guy who tried to rat out Miami did so to the SEC as well, but no one even blinked.

Read the story of John Thrower.... He is the Auburn alum and lawyer who turned in Gene Jelks and brought down Alabama and handed them their first sanctions in school history...

Nearly the entire state of Alabama turned their backs on him, several threats were made against his life. He couldn't practice law anymore in the state because most judges were Alabama grads...

Its more than just football in the SEC they look it as life...

Because they have no lives...

Agree with the poster above.... never seems to be the SEC schools in the crosshairs....

thats because the likes of Nevin Shaprio would of been murdered in SEC towns... in Miami we have one of our alumni as his attorney and helping him

UNC gets away with murder in this state, period. The cr^p that went on was all over the papers here and I was truly shocked at the few and minor penalties. No matter how you look at it the ACC's roots are in Carolina.

I don't like that they reopen cases --- they should have looked harder the first time to find the evidence hiding in plain sight. The stuff leaking out seems like things we already knew.

Mark Emmert should be in jail for the tactics he employs at the expense of the student athletes. Drag as many competing schools' reputations thru the dirt so he, his pal Nick and the $EC can do as they please. Look no further than Ole Miss' recruiting class last year.

Yep but I've said this before- we have nobody to blame but ourselves. The $EC in the grand scheme of actual university wealth and power in the real world doesn't compete with the likes of the Big Ten or ACC or Pac 42. Our university presidents were asleep at the swtich and have basically ceded all this power to the $EC that they didn't really have to. No way in **** that Emmert should have gotten that job. I don't care about his time at Washington. He's a wannabe good ol' $EC boy through and through and anyone could have seen that if they even remotely cared at the time. Now we have to wait for the playoff to actually expose the $EC as a frauduent superpower before we can discuss taking away some of their power and that'll only happen after they stop getting that guaranteed second spot.

Btw, I'd normally actually empathize with a school like UNC but the Tobacco Road crowd wields too much influence in the ACC and it won't hurt if them or Dook is taken down a notch.

Keep in mind we were much worse off in the eighties and look what happened.

Exactly we had garbage facilities and history then and dominated. No matter what the $EC has it is just as Dennis Erickson said all Miami needs is a quality head coach that can recruit with the best of them and keep the top local kids we can dominate again. Which is the main reason that while I think Golden is a stand up guy and a great recruiter his scheme and gameday skills suck. If only he left for Pedo State and Butch had come back. SMGDH
